Had no idea the saber was that weathered in the film ..when the emperor had it on his chair it looked brand new ..so I guess SSC continued their take on accuracy :horror

There are two versions. One typically for close ups with no action and then the stunt. Here are Master Replicas version’s of the two — hero/stunt.

Actually when you get a good look at a screen cap from the throne room scene, the hilt is actually beat to tar on the emperor's throne!

Yeah, the sculpt under the Endor helmet looks better. I think it's the heavy cast shadow over the eyes that helps the sculpt.
I'm also really liking the black suit on the Sideshow version, the way the fabric wrinkles looks better to my eye.
Thanks for all the pictures Chakaman!

One thing that surprises me is that the SSC figure has better proportions. HT's Luke has a huge head and monkey arms... just like the old Sideshow Luke!
If I had the money and inclination, just judging from pics, I'd probably use the SSC body and black outfit with HT's headsculpt, boots and accessories.

It’s the angle the camera is taken. The HT looks fine in hand.

I wonder what the SS hair on the HT sculpt would look like?

I can't tell if the helmeted face looks better than the regular head's face or if it's just that it's so shadowed and kind of hidden within the helmet. Seems like it's the exact same sculpt and paint.

The Sideshow Luke Hoth was a bit like that - where the same face looked a bit better half hidden/shadowed under a peaked hat and headgear that comes up past the ears.

I could be wrong here but I think the SS hair is actually part of the headsculpt so swapping wouldn’t be possible without an insane amount of work.

The figure was conceptualized and put on hold for awhile, like Yoda.

I have a dilemma. I found someone who will sell me their Inigo 2.0 sculpt, but I have heard that the Sideshow body is necked. How much of a pain do you guys think it would be to find a good body match to transfer the outfit onto? I really want that Inigo sculpt.

Myla on FB did it the other day; gotta rip the SS head from the helmet to do it.

Besides the Endor belt(which I will be replacing), I am pretty happy with it.

The sculpt looks good under the helmet. As mentioned earlier, the shadow helps. I also think the lack of hair(which brings down the regular sculpt) helps too.

Looks pretty solid there.:clap

Can you loosen up the arms area and bunch up that neck muffler at all? It doesn't quite seem baggy enough on both counts. It's a really flowing, loose fitting poncho oncrseen - this almost seems a bit too snug overall. Maybe you can pulls some from the back. Just like with ANH Leia it can be really hard to get enough volume and flowing aspect to fabric at this scale.

The SSC Zuckuss had issues on the coat where the sleeves were maybe half the diameter they needed to be. Hopefully this is a matter of futzing.

I agree with Wor-gar on the belt - it is indeed a web belt onscreen, but the buckle could use more detailing and the stuff SSC uses for web belts these days really feels like gift ribbon and is often too narrow (and they use it even where it shouldn't be used, like on Dengar's waist belt which isn't a web belt onscreen.)

Agreed! Looks pretty good here (especially with the scout) Wondering the same thing TaliBane is - can that poncho be loosened up a bit around the neck and chest for a bit more "poncho" look or did SSC not give enough material for that?

It looks good - could be baggier.

Yes I think it looks good.

The belt sucks. Its webbing, but as you mentioned it feels like ribbon. It needs to be thicker.

These were quick pictures, didn't really futz. The poncho seems a bit small, but I think you can achieve some baginess with futzing. I will give it s go when I get home tonight.

I was thinking... do we know why they call these deluxe now? Don’t think they did earlier? Or did they? ...I was wondering, since they probably wouldn’t be able to sell background characters for $250 - maybe, just maybe, they are thinking in terms of developing a non-deluxe cheaper line with less accessories and such? That would make them able to produce characters that HT won’t and still be able to sell them... because as it is right now I don’t see anyone producing less popular figures - as the won’t sell for premium prices.
Please don’t laugh at me... [emoji6][emoji28]

Hot Toys releases regular versions and deluxe versions (usually at the same time, ROTJ Luke being an exception). But SS did what you describe with Vader, had the deluxe version in 2012, then came out with a simplified version in 2014-2015, without tons of accessories, and a bit cheaper.
