:lol Nah, not to much, sounds more complicated than it is! The only problem is it may not be curved...:(

Yeah i'll take photos and upload them here if it's any good! :lol

I am fairly sure that even if you think it's no good and posted photos, the rest of us technically unskilled (ie jealous) Freaks would still think it looked amazing :wink1:.

Really interested in seeing how the production paint apps end up on this. With the increase in prices, I would hope that SS can at least match the production pieces to the prototype. It'll be a good indicator if next years Luke and Han will be decent or not.

I still don't understand how they continue to have sub-par paint jobs on humans, especially with their continued partnership with HT.

:goodpost::exactly:

Im hoping the increase in price means hiring of better painters.
The sculpts are always good, but the prod paint apps always ruin them..

The recent Boba Fett was a disappointment though, from proto to production, despite the price hike.

I'd like to think/hope that this Obi-wan might be a turn of the tide for their human characters. Not even with the most recent GI Joe figures have I see them actually add skin texture to the sculpts not including the neck. So maybe this will have better paint apps along with the added detail in the sculpt??

I used to like that best as well, but after watching all of them multiple times,
I began to dislike the amount of CGI and twirly-twirly stuff in Obi vs Ani :lol

Ani cgi jumps just can't beat Ray Park's acrobatic jumps.

I'll give you the jump, it looks terrible :lol It's literally the only thing I don't like about that fight.

I guess comparatively, I do like the ferocity between Obi-wan and Darth Maul but the fight is over so quick at the end it seems and to me, feels more like Obi-wan got lucky in the end. In Battle of the Heroes, they're evenly matched, they know each other so well so even though we kind of know Darth Vader is coming and Oni-wan survives, I love seeing how it all happened. IMO Darth Vader in PT and the tyranny/success of the Empire is as much as Obi-wan's fault for not killing Anakin as much as Anakin's own weakness in joining the dark side.

Dual of the Fates is just freaking epic though no doubt about t. The moment those bay doors open with DM standing there and the music starting, you know it's about to go down. :rock

I love the DUEL OF THE FATES showdown because, for once in film, we saw what the Jedi could really do, when well trained and fully active they are equally as badass as the Sith.

Obi Wan demonstrates this in TPM, then again in AOTC when he just jumps out of a mega-high-rise apartment window, he does not think twice, he just does it. Also Anakin leaping from the vehicle. Instead the Jedi were shown as powerful but blind fools who got caught napping...:slap :dunno

In fact, now I mention it...that's why the three films mostly failed, their focus was off. They should have been (and almost were) about Obi Wan and his development as a Master Jedi and not some sulky, whiny (not to forget horny) spoilt brat who wanted his own way. Those elements could easily have been in there, but not as the main focus of everything.

Sorry, Prequel Trilogy rant over...Back to the figure.

The time has come for them to do exactly what you are saying.

This sculpt isn't quite Ewan/Obi, and I haven't seen any real closeups to determine skin texture, etc, light up gimmicks aren't going to mean anything if the sculpts, paint apps, aren't improving.

You're right about the length, I frequently find myself replaying duel of fates :lol

And perhaps that evenness between the two heroes in Ep3 make it really exciting.

you can see the skin texture here in these hi-res pics, especially the 3rd one:

Something odd about the neck. Besides the fact that they seem to have used the Emperor's wrinkly old-man neck, doesn't it look like it's coming up to too much of a point before it goes into the head? You can notice it most on the second picture.

looking at those hi rez pics just reminds me how awesome this figure looks.
what i don't get is how people are saying it doesn't look like Ewan or it looks like Ford.
WTF...looks spot on to me.
