I think the likeness is good and it looks like Ewan McGreggor

However, I understand those who say it's bad because I also think it's not perfect.
We have been spoiled by HT figures that look 90%-99% close to the actor. :D

The increase in technical skills is relative. HT are brilliant (now) at creating almost perfect human likenesses, with the vast majority of them looking almost exactly like the intended subject.

This has not always been the case with HT.

Who else still has the V1 SUPERMAN RETURNS Superman Figure? I recall that this was the first HT figure we ever bought and at the time we were amazed at just how good it was. But compared to the Chris Reeve sculpt, it is almost a joke.

Our collection of SSC's 1/6 Buffy and 007 figures are great, but compared to how things are now, SSC have also come on in leaps and bounds. There is nothing really wrong with the Obi Sculpt. I like as it shows how well SSC are doing in the face sculpt department at this point in time, but it will still continue to progress.

So Mad Lu, Glenn and SSE, we can all pose our Obi-Wans with pride and an open mind.

Ordering this figure led me directly to getting the Ep IV version again. :)

'Cept there has never been a Hot Toys figure that came closer than about 80%.:D

you can see the skin texture here in these hi-res pics, especially the 3rd one:

Looking at these two photos I really wonder if the "angry head" is a pre-production sample or at least painted in what method will later be used. it's clearly a different paint application (especially in the skin-tones) than the neutral face. And honestly looks like similar work to the recent Joe heads.

I'm really hoping the production can live up to the proto this time around. They've been on a hot streak with Joes and the non-Human's for SW have been phenomenal. But this figure will really show if they've made the jump to better QC across the board or not.
