Re: re
Sigh, looks like the SSC/Weta LOTR party is over. Will someone turn off the lights?
Even tho there were so many more LOTR figures I would like to have seen produced, I accept that all good things have to eventually come to an end. Maybe, SS/Weta chose to make this last announcement now rather than at SDCC because it would have been very disruptive to the comicon celebratory atmosphere and it's good to get all the bad vibes out now rather than a couple of weeks from now.
As far as Hobbit figures, I think WETA will partner with whatever company can best bring their product to market. Hopefully, this will be Sideshow again. But all bets are off since Weta is partnered with DarkHorse for their immediate future.
Final thought: will there be a ROTK litho? I knew from talking with SSC reps that one of the reasons the Barad-dur Litho was delayed was that getting PJ's sig was next to impossible as busy as he was then and continues to be now. So, as much as I would like one to complete the trilogy, I am forced into the realization that it just won't happen.
Thank You both Sideshow and WETA for enriching my LOTR experience with your exquisitely crafted high end collectibles. I will cherish and reflect back upon the joy they have brought me fo a very long time.
