What's with SS pricing? I was waiting to order from them but $10 more than BBTS and no ex.

I try to order from Sideshow only when they have an EX or a great sale (Black Friday).

Their shipping costs can be double other stores. And they do not double box or pad their shipments (like BBTS) when it's a single figure shipment. My Marty McFly EX arrived crush.

But their customer service and returns/exchange policy is generally really good. I do appreciate their rewards points programs but it's kind of a wash for me due to sales tax.

:lol I just got one on ebay for $200 tonight, only $5 over, so I am happy. Last one in the US on there, everywhere else is out, I looked. There are still a bunch of China sellers, one seller had Ron for $180 free shipping.

Unfortunatley I have Harry on payment plan with SSC, wish I would have just bought him, but I wanted other stuff :lol
Voldy, Sirius, Herimione, GoF Harry all on pre order, so hopefully everything will be out by Christmas.

Why'd you forgo the cheaper Ron for $180 shipped (from China) and pay $200 for the one located in the states?

Fear of bootlegs? Quicker shipping from the US seller?

Just curious because I was looking into buying old Hot Toys Michael Jackson and it seems like most of the sellers are from Asia. Don't know if buyers get duped often from there. I know that they recast a lot of original molds and pass them off as authentic - but not sure if that's a common occurrence with 1/6 figs.

Luckily I found one ebayer selling the Beat It MJ for a competitive price in North Carolina. But I'm still looking for the other three MJ figs and 95% of the sellers are overseas.

Since these are produced in Hong Kong, no reason to be worried about ordering from China. But waiting a couple weeks versus a few days does suck if you're impatient.

^^ I was just going to ask about that! Now that Hermione turned out gorgeous, I want the Ron in Dress Robes. But all of the original Ron's on ebay for around $180 are coming from China. Does anyone know if bootlegs of these figures exist, or if all the ones coming from China/Hong Kong are legit?

These are great. I'm a little sore that they are out so late as I'm kind of past buying stuff for HP since there's so many new things coming out. However, I still think these are fabulous and am happy someone is putting them out there.

Not even Snape? Back in the day you were all about some Snape. lol.

I also noticed that the listings from China usually have stock photos and descriptions.

They rarely have a photo of the actual item that is being shipped to you. So it's harder to place your trust in the seller and what is being sent.

Check out time walker toys! They have great service, fast shipping and the prices are cheaper too!

Small bootleg operations probably can't reproduce a whole figure. They can scam you, but it wouldn't be financially viable to make the clothes and recast the bodies.

The only real worry in terms of bootlegs is loose head sculpts, unless it's a larger outfit like Momtoys.

And as K1NG J0RDAN said, seeing as these are produced in HK then it's just as safe as buying Hot Toys from China. Every now and then a bad apple, but for the most part legitimate.

The boxes shipped from the states get damaged enough, I can not imagine how bad this would be coming from across a ocean then across the states. Plus, I do not feel comfortable buying from oversea sellers on ebay. More than likely it would be fine, but I rather pay the extra $20 and get it by the end of the week than have to wait longer.

I don't think that these were ever posted... WIP shots from KA Kim's Facebook.
