I loved the first film of this trilogy, the second was pretty lackluster and I honestly don't really remember it, this third one looks to be the worst. I'll still see it but I'm not expecting a) good reviews or b) a good box office haul.

I can understand criticisms about the action-focus of this series, and disappointment with the interpretation of Khan. But the cast of the Enterprise crew IMO is unimpeachable.

Quinto has too much emotion in his performance and Pine is hopelessly out of his depth playing Kirk.
I think he'd secretly rather be cast as Han Solo because that's the way he plays the role.
If I have to sit through Kirk moping to someone about how he's still in the shadow of his dad and blah blah I joined Starfleet on a dare blah blah for a third time... (which they show in the trailer) Fuggin man up and kill some Gorns.

Actually the rest of the cast is passable but the writers are clueless when it comes to Spock and Kirk.

That's the point of rebooting this like they did. It changes the characters. Spock is more emotional because his human side shows more. He's involved with a human. Most of his species is wiped out. Most of Kirk's life has been different as well. So....they're going to be different. They are all different. It's better than having them TRY to be carbon copies of the originals.
