its a short sequence, but one of the coolest modern bond openings and leads into the cool facility sequence with Sean Bean's character.

Ah! Now I understand. Leave it to Jye to read my comment “The shot from below of Vel and CInta underwater…” and interpret it as bungee jumping. I think he may still be popping those painkillers from his kidney surgery. Maybe a trip to Detox Mansion is in order? :lol

Also, I could have sworn that Vel and Cinta rappelled down the face of that dam...

p.s. - This is what I was referring to lol...

Reminds me more of the opening of JAWS, lol.

Also, since we mentioned Goldeneye RIP Robbie Coltrane. Most know him as Hagrid, but I remember him as Zukovsky

Oh god there are tears all over my iPhone. This has gutted me in a way I didn’t expect. I guess it’s because I have been watching Coltrane on tv shows and in movies for most of my life. Cracker as well. A massive loss.

Not on screen, but some here have speculated that Cinta may have executed them before leaving the station.
I do think she is meant to kill them given how the crew gives her that look during the mission. Whether or not she did remains to be seen. If she didn't kill them, she'll probably get caught later on because of that (the trailer shows a star destroyer fly over her in that planet) and be executed.

Now that I look at that shot of the Tie pilot getting in, two things keep running through my head:

Why on earth would it be a hand-pulled hatch???
Gees, that looks like it's made from some lightweight plastic

:(

Was thinking the same thing. It needs to be all automated so the pilot can slide in Thunderbirds-style!

I didn't see it that way at all. Felt like vintage sci-fi meets WWII just as the whole show's aesthetic has been. It was ... charmingly analog.

Behind the scenes:

Tech: We added a few Star Wars-ian creatures swimming in the foreground--

Gilroy: (throws chair) Get that god**** crap out of my movie!!! It's empty. OK? No fish, no slithery nonsense... NOTHING!
Sigh!... Not even a blue shrimp

Just managed to get caught up with some series, among them this one, of course.
And man, what a fine fine show this is. The two last episodes were brilliant, the entire finale was amazing. Just loved the bit where the Big Bad Imperial is the one actually trying to save the kid's life and the Rebels all have different reasons (not always the most altruistic ones) for being there.
Everything is just wonderfully nuanced. And the cinematography is beautiful.
Simply brilliant, I am so happy with this show.
