If you've watched the gameplay videos then it's clear that the gameplay is very different from Battlefield, the only thing that's really similar is that they're both FPS's
It's also the biggest project they've worked on since BF3

Out of interest, aside from the futuristic tech and the optional third person aspect, what do you think is very different about the gameplay here compared to Battlefield 4 for instance? As a long running battlefield and Battlefront fan, I think these now look pretty similar. Not necessarily a bad thing but we shall see.

Isn't the "future tech" and 3rd person enough to make it very different? The feel of BF4 is influenced by the look and feel and sound of weapons. Replace all military rifles with blasters firing red/green bolts of laser out, along with the iconic sounds of Star Wars... I think we will be in for a totally different experience.

I haven't played Battlefield since Battlefield Vietnam, so this game looks new and fresh to me...and I don't get all the Battlefield comparisons. Bring on Nov 17th!

Different of course, but the fundamental gameplay remains very Battlefield like from what we've seen so far.

It looks more like a Battlefield game than the original Battlefront titles. Like I said, that may be a good thing ultimately, it may be a huge mistake... This remains to be seen.

Im hoping it has alot of Battlefield influence. I love Battlefield and the concept works extremely well. If we get maps the same scale as BF but fully StarWars, its going to be epic. My main concern is the leveling up . Will it have enough ? Will there be weapons of plenty ??

I just dont want to see another Titanfall. No disrespect as its a great game but it felt rather empty.

Im liking what iv seen so far tho.

Yeah, that's a better way of saying it. I'm reminded more of Battlefield than of Battlefront when I look at footage. A lot of that is no doubt this being made by Dice with the same engine. Not speaking for anyone else..this is just what I see.

The weapons work differently, you have special abilities, the gameplay types are different beyond the normal conquest type stuff you see in past Battlefield and Battlefront games. There's also the added element of the hero characters.

Also remember that as far as comparisons to Battlefield go, it was originally designed to essentially be a Star Wars version of Battlefield. And that they're doing stuff to change it up now is great, because they could have just done the same gameplay with Star Wars graphics but they didn't.

But at least I don't have to wait for Rogue Squadron to be released on the WiiU console anymore.
