It was over 10gig when I pre-installed it last night on PC. Just finished work, I'll give this a blast shortly. Just watched a Gamespot video in which they pretty much admitted that this is aimed more at kids due to its simplicity and that it gets boring quickly. You watch them give it 10/10 still..

the game looks amazing visually, but I can see where they are coming from. I am hopeful this will turn out. This is just a beta so I'm guessing there will be ALOT more available when it drops.

Yeah, this is really just releasing the content that has been demoed at conventions so far, there's a lot more content in the final game.

I have it pre-loaded on origin. I downloaded last night which means it should be open right now. I'm at work so I cannot play. Did you get a chance to play?

Let's hope that there is. I am off to play it now, I didn't realise ships were a power up, that's another disappointment imo. It ruins the immersion a bit, I would rather they were just around the map so that you could jump into them at well as before.

I switched my Xbox location to Australia so I was able to start downloading it an hour early. It got super slow the moment it officially went up in north America. It's taking forever to join a server though.

Hoth is fun, two matches was enough for one sitting though. The single player is capped at 6 waves which was a bit disappointing, it ended just as things were starting to get interesting.

I'm glad it's easy i really don't like much MP games. And i like to turn off my brain when i play sometimes. Glad to hear, Just wish it had SP.

Not really impressed. It feels boring. I was hoping for a more tactical game but all it is, is running holding the trigger knowing you will die simply to respawn. Rinse and repeat. Walker battle is boring, all people are doing is using Xwings and Tie fighters to suicide bomb ground enemies. The flying mechanics are awful.

Its such a dull and uninspiring beta. It doesnt capture star wars. Theres no intensity to the battle, its so casual because you just die to almost instant respawn and then run straight up with zero consequence.

The best part of the beta by far is the survival mode. Which, for a game that is pretty much all multiplayer, does not bode well. I'd love to play Endor, but even looking at the matches/scenarios that are not available in the beta, it doesn't seem like this will have a lot of options even on release. Feels like it'll be extremely hollow without several substantial DLC packs. Thing is, if you look at the original Battlefront games, those weren't super complex either. This isn't a new Battlefront aimed at fans of the originals that are now older and play Battlefield; this is a new Battlefront aimed at the same age demographic that fell in love with the old one.

I just might save my money and put it toward HT's 1/4 Boba Fett next month.




EDIT: A Battlefield reskin would actually be preferable. Bad Company 2 had some especially intense tactical moments. As it stands, this is more of a Battlefield "Lite". With mostly uninspired map construction, I'd say.

The gameplay is more different from Battlefield than I expected, I think I like it more that way. As far as there being a lack of content, not all of the content is listed in the menu of the beta, the full game will have a lot more than that.

As expected it looks amazing, and there's also new original music which sounds really great also.

Yeah, graphics are amazing. Glad my cards eat it up without a hitch. Loading times suck though.

But it does feel like BF4 without the prone and bullet drop.

I think video games have simply left me behind. I'm just ****ing terrible now. I had maybe 10 kills and 100 deaths. Everyone just picks me off so easy from across the map. If I do get close I lose EVERY close battle. Just isn't fun.

I've never played a SW: Battlefront game, so I was pretty impressed with this beta - played for an hour. Was having a lot of fun with the Horde type mode. Wondered why all the Sandtroopers had orange on, then saw everyone in the other level had all black pauldrons...lol.
The Hoth level was pretty much chaos, but I felt the game handles really well. And, one of the prettiest games on the PS4 ever....just very very nice looking. Keeping my preorder!
