Hello all. Wanted to chime in with my battlefront beta experience. First, to set the stage, I hate multiplayer. I mean I truly despise it. So I wasn't exactly thrilled about BF being primarily multiplayer. But it's SW, so I'll give it a shot. As expected I was dying every 10 seconds. Everyone just running around shooting everything for their K/D ratio. I was having zero fun and was sad because I had been looking forward to a kickass SW game. I ended up hooking up with an online forum for this game and got some new friends from it on PSN that I could play with. After that the beta was much better for me. Obviously multiplayer is much better with people who communicate. The game does have issues as people here have mentioned (spawn points, balancing, etc). But I believe that's what the beta was for. To find these issues and test the servers.
The game is gorgeous and I did end up having fun in the end. I will be picking up the game at launch.
Not sure about this $50 season pass though.

Feel the same about MP, but it's SW so........:)

There's a good reason why companies will pay so much for licenses. You guys hate what the game is and will still buy it for the name on the box.

I can't hate yet another soulless EA sponsored project.

and will still buy it for the name on the box.
So far I haven't wasted a penny on something I didn't like from previews just because it had a trendy name plastered all over the box (haven't bought a physical copy in years tho).

What was your point exactly?

I wasn't talking to you. I was referring to the guys who admit that they hate multiplayer games, but will buy BF because of the license.

Oh, I see.
Well, I'm pretty sure those individuals will find it too chalanging/annoying too quick. After all, it's a DICE game. :lol

I got over the disappointment of this a bit, gave in to my nostalgia and bought one of these old beauties.... again.

Got a decent deal so the whole thing with the limited edition console, SW Racer and Rogue squadron etc cost me £50 less than this game would have with the season pass... Pretty mad when you think about it.

Really? I've played BF star wars and it is easier than normal its modern warfare cousin, BF3 or BF4.

No bullet drop!
Aside from the sniper rifle you get, there is no sniper class. And you can't spam that rifle.
Also, there's no medic or support class in the game. :lol
No grenade launchers but we have yet to see.
Vehicles seem to spawn regularly and they're not confined to a specific area. They appear randomly throughout the map.
You get to be one of the heroes and they seemed over power.

For me FPS played on a console is for having fun first, either going solo or with a group.

I'm never going to take FPS competition seriously on a console with a controller.

Same for me on pc, and most people in fact. What's the point of playing video games if not to have fun and take you away from the real world for a while.

Not everything I interact with in entertainment (movies, videogames or books) has to be some form of ultra sophisticated intellectual piece of transformative art ready to challenge me at every turn.

Sometimes I just want to fly a damn X-Wing, drive the Batmobile or enjoy a crappy horror movie, sheesh! :lol

Some people want a more complicated game. For this game, it's not required. I just need something with nice pretty star-wars-alien looking terrain and some storm troopers (or rebels) to shoot at. It captures the movies so well and it uses a pretty decent game engine.

To hell with customizing your guns with attachments and accessories, squads, and dying as soon as you spawn.

I'm planning on getting this when the season pass and the game are going for dirt cheap. Sounds like all of this might retail for $100 (game plus season pass)!

I am just waiting until a little after actual release to give it a try, let everyone else bug test for me. :p

As far as people not needing a challenge and just want to have fun...my guilty pleasure is Dynasty Warriors.
Not very hard, mindless button mashing, but 1000s of pretty flashy kills and no one else to take my kills. :D

I watched that last week, didn't post it as I've been hating enough.. :lol

Glad I'm not alone though, not that I expect anything will change as this will sell regardless..

:slap

How I miss the days of modding. I can recall a few from many moons ago.

Try to make a Star Wars / BF mod these days...

1) It would have to be an old BF as newer ones dont allow modding
2) Manage to get one up, they would shut you down so fast due to IP rights
