So this game is really worth the PS4 limited edition purchase? The only games I really want to play on PS4 are probably this, MGS5 and Arkham Knight, I haven't been invested in my PS3 multiplayer games in a while since I don't have any friends to play with so I feel like I'm fading away from online gameplay.

Do you have an Xbox One? If you want to play the games that are console-only then PS4 is a good choice. I don't really play with friends online but I play Destiny a lot and any other console exclusives that are good--Bloodborne is fantastic

Battlefront's Heroes vs Villains mode pits the famous against the infamous

Pop quiz, no Googling allowed: How many modes are there in Star Wars Battlefront? Trick question, because even if you had the previous number correct, EA and DICE revealed three more today. Say hello to Heroes vs Villains, Battles, and Training Missions.

Heroes vs Villains is definitely my personal standout, pitting two teams of six against each other, with three players taking the role of random Heroes and three players on the opposing team donning their best black cloaks as random Villains. Remaining players spawn as Rebel troops or Stormtroopers, and iconic characters who fall in battle respawn as these standard footsoldiers. The goal, naturally, is to eliminate the enemy's special characters.
Battles will be the smallest-scale skirmishes, at least in terms of human-controlled troops; each side will have only one player, and matches can be experienced with a team of AI squadmates or 1v1. If you want to play Han Solo, the Hero Battles variant functions the same way, but players will control an iconic Star Wars character instead of Nameless Trooper #66. Battles and Hero Battles can also be played splitscreen for that classic "Hey, I invited you over here, maybe don't be such a jerk" couch play.
Lastly, if you're not feeling ready to jump into the thick of intergalactic warfare right away, Training Missions will get you accustomed to Battlefront's various methods of vaporization. Five missions will take you from boots on the ground to hands behind the wheel (do they have steering wheels in Star Wars?) to wings in the air as you learn how to Star Wars better than the other team.
Whew! Now, with Battlefront due on store shelves in less than a month - November 17, to be exact - I don't think we'll be seeing any more new modes announced. Right? … Right?

Not sure about Hans hair cut, starting to look like Chewie.

If you're interested in playing it again check out this: Star Wars Episode I: Racer – Play Old PC Games Play Old PC Games

After getting the installer to work the issue is the texture format which DirectX won't read anymore, but there's a fix for that.

I did this today and it actually kind of works.. :hi5: The game is installed on my windows 10 pc and runs but has some nuances. For instance, I'm using the Xbox controller and the controls are less than ideal and can't be fully configured as far as I can tell so far so I'm having to make sacrifices with some gameplay elements. There are a few glitches and the game takes literally 5 minutes to start when you first fire it up (needs to be run as administrator) Also, I couldn't find an 1080 option as some have mentioned and the cut scenes are tiny for whatever reason.

Also, I've just reached the first anti gravity section to find I have zero control other than the roll axis through these. This makes it impossible to win the race and means imminent death 4-5 times in each of these sections and regularly spawns you inside an rock so you have to restart the game. So it's frustrating, but better than nothing. The game is as good as I remember, what I wouldn't give for a new one.

Use the keyboard--you can then map the thrust control with the down button so that you are always at the maximum speed and it makes it really easy for the meter to go to the Boost level

I might try the keyboard in zero g to see if it works, good idea. But I'd rather use the game pad in general, it just means I don't have as much control as I'd like. Once youve pushed the stick forwards once, the pod just goes full speed all the time without any input, and the boost can only be disengaged if you apply brakes among other problems. I'll try to fix these issues on my next day off. I had issues for hours with the controls, my pod just turned left constantly so I was doing circles, then I figured it was due to my Saitek combat rudder pedals being plugged in. For now I'm happy to have had a refresh of one of the better Star Wars games ever made. It actually still holds up surprisingly well if you can get it running stable. Mine isn't it seems, but it will do for now..

The gameplay is still really good, the only issue is the graphics. What I'd really like to see is a remake with improved graphics and then a new crashes feature where the crashes are done in a realistic way--like engines coming apart and bending from collision. Playing Burnout Paradise it was fun to just crash and see what happens, so it'd be cool to have that type of thing

I'd love to see that, whether it be a remake, or a sequel with the same overall feel. Modern visuals and sounds, with improved physics and AI could make for a pretty special sw racer game. I tried the keyboard in zero g, no luck. I'm going to have to find a fix as I can't finish the race to progress, bit frustrating after getting it running.

Hello all. Wanted to chime in with my battlefront beta experience. First, to set the stage, I hate multiplayer. I mean I truly despise it. So I wasn't exactly thrilled about BF being primarily multiplayer. But it's SW, so I'll give it a shot. As expected I was dying every 10 seconds. Everyone just running around shooting everything for their K/D ratio. I was having zero fun and was sad because I had been looking forward to a kickass SW game. I ended up hooking up with an online forum for this game and got some new friends from it on PSN that I could play with. After that the beta was much better for me. Obviously multiplayer is much better with people who communicate. The game does have issues as people here have mentioned (spawn points, balancing, etc). But I believe that's what the beta was for. To find these issues and test the servers.
The game is gorgeous and I did end up having fun in the end. I will be picking up the game at launch.
Not sure about this $50 season pass though.

Han Solo

Unlike those zany force users, Han has a simple point-and-click interface. Two of his three abilities directly augment his iconic blast pistol: Rapid Fire, which lets him fire as fast as he can pull the trigger with no overheating; and Lucky Shot, which can be charged up to seriously damage vehicles, or even blast through Darth Vader's powerful block. And just like in A New Hope, Han can do a Shoulder Charge to blitz into (and out of) groups of stormtroopers.

Princess Leia

Leia has a bit more nuance than her smuggler boyfriend. Any Rebels who spawn near Leia will appear as Alderaan Honor Guards, and she can defend her allies with an Enhanced Squad Shield or aid them with a Supply Drop - Supply Drops also include health-ups for heroes, letting them extend their precious time on the battlefield. Leia's not a pure support character, though: her Trooper Bane ability lets her fell stormtroopers in one shot or hurt and stun villains, and she can even fire out of her otherwise impenetrable squad shield when Trooper Bane is active.

The Emperor

The sinister senator is the Empire's own support hero (er, villain), with his Imperial Resources ability mirroring Leia's Supply Drop. But his other abilities are all about frying Rebels: Force Lightning is his main attack, damaging enemies in front of him, and the Chain Lightning ability boosts it to kill foes in all directions. Lastly, his Force Dash ability lets him dart forward at ludicrous speed, surprising Rebels with his pruney visage before administering some electroconvulsive therapy.
