Did the EMT mention that all of those people that fainted were probably tourists like yourself?? I bet they weren't drinking enough water either.

I thought this conversation was over, but obviously you want to keep biting. Go back and actually READ what I wrote. The EMT mentioned it was not just tourists. He said it was a particularly bad summer, but Florida that time of year is rough in general. And this situation occurred in the morning, not long after we were hydrated (certainly less than 30 minutes). I was there. I know all the painful details. I really don't understand all the hostility from you in this thread.

Regardless, I guess we won't have to worry about you attending the event. No sweat off my back.

Again, wtf?? Sorry my dislike of brutally hot weather offends you so deeply. I never thought expressing my feelings about said topic would result in such vicious and rude reactions from fellow board members. You (and the other guy who lashed out) act like I shot your dog or something. Sorry I somehow insulted your "state pride" or some such nonsense.

For the record, I will most likely attend, since I have enjoyed the previous Celebrations. I'm not happy with the location, but I'm willing to give it a go. Sorry to "worry you."

ok,well i went to C3 and was at the start of the line about #11 or #12 for the GL thing overnight in INdy-yer u know it,it rained its butt off and snowed...mwahahaha..12hrs!!!!!in line!!!!and loved every minute of the days i spent there in INdy!!
went to C4 in L.A. and Gencon actually fared a LITTLE better at organising it then C3.....and i loved it!!
and being the 30th Anniv of MY all time favourite movie til the day i die!!!!..ESB-im GOING.
The killer for me and the rest of my local brethren is the plane trip!!!at LEAST $2500 Gs return from Sydney-Florida!!and that is probably with the stopover to NZ and LA on the way-C4 was 14hrs-str8 to LA....this will be like 19hrs with a trip to the east coast..sigh.lol.
A simple question though for all my yankee SW brothers from Florida....when u say it is hot?and humid? can u please give me some numbers? If i can flip them to Celsius and will give me an idea of bareability OUTSIDE the con centre.ATM temps here in Newcastle-the East coast of Aus-its around 27C to 38C this time of year.Being a baker,im sure the heat will be ok,its the humidity that is killer.
Cant wait to see u ALL there!!!!

I'm a hardcore Star Wars fan...and I really want t o go to this event...but money is always a factor....so I wanted to ask this question...

Is Celebration really worth it??

yes it is...and it is something worthy of the experience.a place to divulge in the passion of all things SW!!meet new ppl from across the world, hang out and talk ALL things SW.
one thing that stood out for me was lining up at C4 on the first day...i was all by myself-a stranger in a strange land-and the ppl i lined up behind at 4am in the morning were from the USA...they made me feel welcome, even went and got me breakfast cause they were a group and to this day i still keep in touch with them :)

That's a tough question now that there aren't any more films coming out. CIV was kind of lacking (and LFL had the CW to show) but if you truly are hardcore and since its in your backyard I would say go.

^^:lecture :lecture Its got to be worth it. How many more times can they really have Celebration now that all of the films are done and said??

Well, so far 2 without any films. I am just saying that the 4th one lacked a certain excitement since LFL held back on say a big CW presentation at C:IV. They will keep doing these since people still keep on showing up.

I probably won't be going to any more. All the others were in Indy right?? Since its literally on my doorstep I have no excuse not to go. Empire is my favorite of the bunch so I might as well celebrate its big anniversary.

Glenn is going :)
long way from home again ;) but looking forward to meeting more PPl.

You can try this website: WunderGround

Then in the box in the left that says 'Current Conditions', you can click a link that says 'Weather History for This Location'.

Where it says 'Detailed History and Climate', you can plugin any date and go forth! :)

I think they did a very weak job posting any good information about this show. I can't just up and buy tickets without at least knowing some of the guests planned to attend and such.

I don't think I can make this next year anyway but we'll see. I loved C4 and it was a lower cost transportation flying to LA. Orlando is clear on the other side of the country for me though....

I wish there was more info on this show.
