All I can say is I hope Chewie and the droids are all inclusive because that would be one tense PPO.

I would actually rather have Chewies inclusive be a different head and a chain so we can have ROTJ Chewie and then have the regular be ANH. This would allow everyone to pick their favorite Chewie or maybe offer a deal if you wanted both because I see Chewies price being $99.99

As for the droids a two pack would be ok but I would rather have them individually but I could see them being $75-85 easily each.
i hope R2's accessory is the bartender tray.
and C-3PO Im not sure

I think this looks great and I highly anticipate the probable announcement of a Chewie and/or The Droids very soon. :chew

Or they could announce more Endor troopers to play it since they were on the Falcon during ROTJ and Im sure not all of them were manning gunner stations. They were probably sitting thier playing games while the battle was going on so what will Sideshow do they will release two more of them so you can pose them with the table.:D

I should shoot you for even speaking that into existence. :lol

Yep, like everyone else is saying. All of the expansion packs have related directly to a character (Sith Probes, Maul: Crumb and Bubo, Jabba) so to have a chess set w/o droids or Chewie would not make any sense. This is a hint and a good one at that!

And I do think that C-3PO would be a one-off design (not over a base body)... similar to HT's Endo and Robocop. I imagine they'll probably reuse it a couple of time for variants (white, silver, black, etc) to recoup R&D costs, same with R2. I hope will have as good of articulation as Anthony Daniels in the suit.

What I see for articulation is limited. I could see wrists, limited elbows if at atll, shoulders, neck, MAYBE waist, hips, and knees. I dont think it will have a huge range of motion, nor do I think he needs it.

I would throw in ankles just so you can get a more natural stance on uneven surfaces. I hope that with the elbows they work out a piston so he can bend them a bit. Its worked on Endos and Robocop, can't see why C-3PO should be left in the cold.

Well I think the piston would be out purely for budgetary reasons. You can only do so much and bring 3PO in on budget especially if this is a new body. HOWEVER, I could be wrong and SS could be going all out figuring that they will get milage out of repaints that would recoup costs.

I dunno... McFarlane did it with both their 8" Robocop and Endoskeleton for the Movie Maniacs line (its really just a tube of plastic that can be slid over to give the illusion of a piston. And so far the 1/6 versions of Robo and the Endo have had it as well.

I think in 1/6 you really have to make things work. Sure it may cost more, but I'd rather pay $100 for an excellent C-3PO than $60 for one thats barely a step above Hasbro in articulation.

Hasbro never made an articulated 12 inch 3PO... they made something that LOOKED like 3PO. That figure sucked hard. I was never pleased with it. The hands suck, it doesn't look very good and it just feels cheap. Don't even get me started on the articulation with him. But I agree, I could stand $100 for 3PO as long as it was REALLLY good. Man, isnt it Toyfair time yet?

Is it just me or does the little dude in the brown jacket look like he may be articulated?

It does look cool but I am not sure, even if they announce the droids or chewir that I will be interested in this set. I need context for this piece to get excited and without the figs to pose them with I am very :blah about the whole thing.

These ought to be articulated -- it seems to be the only reason not to cast them in semi-translucent plastic.

I don't collect the 12" line, but this could be a curiously nice standalone piece. Who knows, I might yet cave in.
