I took it as more of a "Could it get any worse?" type of exchange. They were already on the run, outnumbered, outgunned and on a desparate, Hail Mary type mission, then not only did the FO locate them & were in hot pursuit but they suddenly were sporting jet packs too. "Yep, it's worse". :lol

Regardless of what Disney may or may not want, this is a movie being discussed in a movie thread so IMO comics are irrelevant, especially ones pertaining to Clone Wars based on a different trilogy set in a different timeframe. I know hundreds of people who have seen this movie, and NONE of them have ever read a SW comic book (few have read any comic book, period).

That would be fair to say if Disney didn?t force people to read novels, comics, and play a video game to get the complete understandable version of the story.

Yup
Pretty much . Remember that whole maz lightsaber backstory deal? They seriously wanted you to read the comics for that info.

Good to see that the thing that has people most upset is the "they can fly now? " Line.

:)

Nah, that comic just reminded me. TROS was already a mess without that.

I remember my head exploding when Poe first mentioned Kijimi late in the film. It was the last straw of plot elements that just kept piling on top of each other.

Funny, I didn?t do any of that and I understood the story just fine. :lol

You understood the story of how maz got the lightsaber? How?s that?

I was referring to TROS story - I really didn't care about how Maz got Luke's saber. As she said, it was "a story for another time" or something to that effect. The salient points were that Luke went into seclusion and he didn't take it with him. Knowing how Maz came to possess it, while a curiosity, wasn't going to advance the plot of TFA.

Obviously the comics have 'splained it. But the best advice is, don't ask.

I?m happy that the ST is over with because the storm has fully subsided and I can now just appreciate the elements I like from them in a rather relaxing manner.

As long as HT doesn?t announce a Broom Boy Deluxe with removable broom handles I think the ST waters shall remain calm from here on out and if you haven?t done so yet make sure you jump at the HT FO Jakku or Heavy Gunner on the secondary market they are super awesome for the $125-$175 they are going for.

Collectors need money and space for the HT Clone army being made.

I watched a Reelz special on Star Wars, and there was a clip from 1980 with Ford and Hamill on GMA... and Mark was bragging: "I played Luke very na?ve and innocent in the first film deliberately so I would have somewhere to go in the next." Like he thought he'd be a in a sequel when he was doing the first. Ford just subtly palmed his face while Mark spoke.

The great Mark Hamill, ladies and gentlemen.

Well he wasn?t wrong now was he.

He was smart.

Better to be prepared or else end up like ROTJ Han.

Ford is so overrated...
The man did three great roles from 77 to 84 (SW, Blade Runner, ROTLA) and that was basically it.
And in BR he is completely overshadowed by Rutger Hauer.
