Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

See... this is the problem. You've had so many of these dust-ups, you don't even remember them all.:lol

The date, brother. The DATE... of... the... INFRACTIONS. The infractions YOU gave me. The ONLY infractions I've ever gotten (and allegedly the only two you've EVER given...?) were not in February.:slap

Umm. Could you guys help grandpa find his reading glasses? Then.... we can get to that crying and humility.:lol

Oops, right?

Yep, the fit that you threw in February 2017 continued for three months which finally led to infractions (I didn't exactly have a hair trigger with those now did I.) And it's a fit that you're still throwing today.

So again I ask, prove that I ever gave them out because you simply disagreed with my opinions on a movie or take my advice from a year ago (and the advice from our good friend JAWS) and let it go.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

I never gof an infraction.
Dave did PM me once to tell me to knock it off. :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

If I was Talibane this is where I would quickly break into a Talia death scene impression from TDKR lol

Read Khev’s post then immediately....

Taliabane, lol. Slow knife indeed.

Thinking about it last night it’s pretty cool how Luke manages to fulfill Rey/Leia’s requests without compromising his beliefs.

He saves the day, while also proving how futile it would have been to show up
in person (he would have been obliterated on sight). Unlike with Vader, Luke knows he will not be the one to reach Kylo. His value to the galaxy really is his inspirational legend. Once he overcomes his guilt and acknowledges that, it’s pretty spectacular how he utilizes it.

So he uses the Force to effect change without doing harm to anyone but himself, without abusing it as a Jedi Power. The only weapons he uses are words.

Spot on. On a side note when my kids were watching this at home we joked about how funny it would have been if Finn had dragged Rose right up to Luke's feet just seconds before the AT-AT's unleashed hell.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

If I was a hater after reading your post I would just do this (see gif) knowing that i’m lacking the certain requirements needed to fully comprehend the sophistication that Rian imbedded into Luke’s journey god what a visionary director he turned out to be.

This is JAWS at this very moment....

:lol

You will note that Luke was not on my list of changes. I have always said that Luke was the best part... I do state that the Drama of the situation is hurt for repeat viewings.

Having said that

You can have good ideas but when you poorly execute those ideas then you have failed.. And failed Johnson did.

It is the film to nowhere with story issues / inconsistencies and plot holes so big you could drive a RPO and AQP through them :)

So there :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Again Jye I would like to point out.. No Luke here. :)

I figured out last night.. If TLJ just made a few minor adjustments and got rid of these players in the film and the stories surrounding them then I would probably like it 85% more..

Ok... Here is an easy one that I think Johnson tried to explain away but its BS....

Luke is a Hologram... Lasers cant touch him and he does not leave foot prints...

Yet after watching the end of the film the other night he is all sorts of touching Leia.. No way around it.. I think her hand even move when he wraps them with his hands.. Not to mention that he leaves the Dice (another Hologram) with here.. Apparently you can Pocket Holograms.. And then He dies but Holograms are still around..

Not plot holes but stupid - Lasers that Curve in space??

Nobody acknowledging the fact that Poe actually did save the day by knocking out the big ship... Had he not the "fleet destroyer" would have followed them through hyperspace and blew everyone out of the sky. So the whole plot revolving around Poe is a bunch of BS

Need to know basis with Poe is BS especially after he ultimately saved the fleet (destroying the Fleet killer) but was too dumb to bring that up.

The Map to Luke is stupid especially with his end game in mind.

hey Hux... Don't send out any Tie Fighters to destroy the fleet.. Just wait for them to run out of Fuel.

Jedi Ghost ability to effect the real world opens up a whole can of worms.

ALL OF REYS F'ING JEDI POWERS!!!!!!! I guess if I want to ignore everything that I know about SW I can accept this gigantic plot hole but I wont.

I won't go into the fact that Johnson created plot holes by ignoring the film that came before it.. (Wasn't Snoke going to complete Kylo's training)

Rose Logic. :lol

Its just an ugly movie and feels less and less like SW them more I see of it.. It is the IM3 of the SW Universe. :(

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

erm..

How did Poe know Maz?
How did Rey get back on the falcon with Chewie after fighting with Kylo?
Why did Holdo act in such an incredulous way with Poe who just saved them all from Starkiller base?
Why did Luke leave a map to the island in R2 and WTF was the entire plot line in TFA about a missing piece of the map?
Why did DJ act like he was stealing the stupid necklace from Rose (to the point of an argument) if he only wanted it as a conductor - you know you could just say?
Why did Hux not just send an armada of ships out to destroy the tiny resistance fleet? He wanted to wait until they ran out of fuel? :lol
How did Luke repair his x-wing wing door almost immediately after it was ripped of it's hinges by chewy?
Who was Snoke and what was he doing?
He was powerful enough to meld the minds of Rey and Kylo but he couldn't tell that Kylo was about to kill him?
Force ghosts can summon lighting now?
Leia can float in space - should have told Vader at the end of Rogue One and this entire mess would have been cleared up and the OT would never have been required.
Why did the cooked Porgs have comedy plastic feet?
How did BB8 get 6 coins inserted into his slot then fire hundreds at the guards.
How did the Farthiers jump through stone walls? Very unhorse like.
Why did Rose a resistance fighter have a ridiculous hidden resistance logo in a giant eternity ring.
And why on earth would several small (Michael Jackson "Smooth Criminal) kids know about the Resistance or the First Order - Given that Finn and ex Resistance proper had never heard of Canto Bite.
Why did Rian Johnson waste so much money building the most incredible sets and creatures for Canto Bite (check the deleted scenes) then use none of them in the movie and instead do a Mary Poppins horse ride through the city instead.
Why did Holdo act so bizarrely and not tell one of the main resistance leaders (POE) what was happening? Leia obviously wasn't that pissed with him as she gave him permission to go an blow stuff up again mere minutes before Holdo arrived?
Why did Luke throw away his father's lightsabre with such carelessness? It's like he did it for a laugh - but Rey didn't find it amusing (neither did anyone else in the cinema). Even if he was pissed at the Jedi it makes zero sense that this would';t have significance for him.
How did Luke hand Solo's dice to Leia given that neither of them were real?
Why did the soldier on Crait stick his finger into the footprint of his boss and then taste it? It could have been sulphuric acid or Taunton piss.
How did Finn fly his little fighter straight through the beam of the giant First Order laser cannon on craft for minutes without taking damage?
How did BB8 get up into a chicken walker..
Where was Holdo in TFA? A famous general who wasn't at the Starkiller Base briefing? Probably dying her hair..
How was Maz in the middle of a whole new adventure hours after her castle was blown up in TFA?
Where did all the women come from in the resistance ship?
Is Holdo sexist? Certainly seemed like she was an equal opportunity employer.

I could go on.. and on.. and on... it's just moronic all of it.

Dude Starkiller base had happened like 24 hours ago.. Nobody remembers that...

But they should remember if he did not destroy the Dreadnaught, like Leia told him not too, then they would all be dead..

But Poe was dumb enough not to bring it up also..... So I guess he deserves to be treated like a nobody.

Yes that's why I thought that he could physically manipulate things remotely after my first viewing. But then people laughed and said I didn't know what I was talking about since Johnson said he wasn't really there (always going by interviews and not the actual film, lol.) But watching it a few more times I do see that we are meant to believe that he couldn't touch anything hence no red footprints or him ever actually connecting with Kylo's saber. Yes Mark and Carrie touched hands in real life but I just write it off as a slight continuity error or what have you.

Snoke said he wanted to complete Kylo's training until he learned that he was a loser who got bested by a girl who'd never held a lightsaber. :)

As for the rest really only the TIE Fighter thing holds water for me. It really is silly and contrived that the FO didn't send out a bunch of TIE Bombers to obliterate Leia's cruiser the same way the Resistance took out the Dreadnaught. Obviously the movie established that Hux is a dufus who doesn't know how to properly manage his fleet but even that is pretty silly in and of itself. It'd probably bug me more if the OT didn't have it's own goofy issues with military tactics though.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Adding that one to my list..

Poe saved EVERYONE not once but twice in the last 24 hours but wasn't informed by the new Resistance leader what was going down. Was he a known first order sympathiser or spy?
Must have missed that part or maybe they will write a novel about it to explain.

Or maybe it was just terrible writing that made zero sense except to facilitate Johnson's and Kennedy's ridiculous sexist storyline.

the crazy thing is that Leia did it already with one single line earlier in the movie "lots of heroes, no leaders".

And the "we have them on a string" plot line was just incredibly stupid. Firstly it was a rip off of a great Battlestar Galactica episode, there was zero reason for Hux not to be able to blow them out of the sky.
:lol

I should not be dumping on the film as it has its fans.. But watching some of it the other night.. Man I just dislike so much about it..

Like I said before these films are not for me.. I don't really care at all about any of the new characters and they have ruined the fun of the old characters... SW ended after ROTJ... I am Ok with that :)

I love TFA and TLJ but RO/SW/ESB/ROTJ is a pretty awesome canon to cling to. :duff

Still does not explain the Dice.. The Dice to me are proof that Leia and Luke touched.. Then Johnson had to backtrack.

I'll accept the Snoke explanation... The other things are major issues IMO.. Actually of the things I mentioned the one you have issues with is the least of mine.. I can see not sacrificing your people if the ship is going to run out of fuel anyways.
