Not to break up all of the fun with the memes, but there are rumors out there that Disney may split Episode IX into two movies.

If I cared anymore I'd say it'd be a stupid idea to break up the established trilogy format of the Saga movies.

Eh, why not? If there's enough story for 2 movies then sure. Like the article said, it could be like Infinity War (which IMO is clearly only half a story) and its upcoming sequel. But also don't stretch out one movie's worth of plot to 2 thread bare movies.

I don't have a problem with this.

Having said that; from what I've read it sounds like JJ may cram as many characters in Episode IX as possible.

That I'm not so sure about.

Though I agree with that, ten episodic films (assuming these two would be titled as Episodes IX and X) does have a nice ring to it.

Just, if it happened, I couldn't help but laugh at the requirement of an extra movie to tell an 'arguably' tacked-on and completely unnecessary story that people have already lost interest in after only the second movie.
