Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Yes slaughtering a roomful of unarmed kids made "eeeevil" but where's the "badass" factor in that? Nowhere.

It made him too evil. Too far from where we saw him start in TPM and too far from actually being redeemable in ROTJ.

And obviously I agree with everything else you said.

And too far from where he was five minutes earlier. :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Since Hayden Christensen still looks EXACTLY like he did in 2005 Disney really should try to take advantage of that to repair at least that scene from ROTS. If he appears in Episode IX somehow work in a flashback to the younglings scene and show an extended version that changes our perspective.

Youngling: "Master Skywalker there are too many of them, what are we going to do?"

*lightsaber ignites*

Anakin: "Run."

*younglings sprint past him and pour out of the room followed by the sound of a barrage of blaster fire in the hall. Anakin closes his eyes and lowers his head.*

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

It would show a tangible example of there still being the tiniest fragment of "good in him," even in his darkest hour, that both Padme and Luke would later pick up on.

Well, damn!!! Bravo, sir! :clap:clap:clap

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Great idea but it still couldn't work because of Obi-wan's later scene where he tells Padme that he saw a hologram of Anakin killing them and I think it's in Padme's dialogue to Anakin aswell.

I know, I was actually really disappointed when I remembered that because Khev's idea would have been fantastic.

I guess Yoda did also say that other younglings had been killed with a lightsaber. Oh well.

Gotta save the random clone pilot! Gotta kill every last child in the room! K.

Simply brilliant.

After Khev’s post I honestly don’t believe that I could watch ROTS ever again.

I say we get LFL/Disney to give Khev creative control over a ROTS SE. Problem solved.

I was already picturing more ways it could be integrated into Episode IX. :( Like having Kylo defeat Rey and then declare "Even monsters can become more powerful than you can possibly imagine. I killed Han Solo and Luke Skywalker because I did what had to be done, just like my grandfather." *picks up Anakin's repaired blue lightsaber and is immediately hit with a flashback of Anakin sparing the younglings. In horror he looks at the hilt with the sudden realization that he's more evil and pathetic than Anakin ever was*

Rey kills him, he collapses, does not disappear.

It really does need the full SE treatment doesn't it. It sucks because the PT could have been immeasurably better with mere minutes of tweaked footage here and there.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

ROTS craps all over the ST tho. Factz
