It did for me.

I had zero interest in SW after PT ......

My interest returned with ST.

So I understand how some feel the same about TLJ and ST.......however I don’t understand how they give the PT a pass.....that trilogy is 90 % garbage.

Sent from the inside of a giant slug in outer space.....

Cause rots despite its flaws has memorable moments. Same as all the pt movies. I can’t name one iconic moment from st. Not one. No iconic quotes or anything. It’s just dry and stale and reeks of corporate sell toys and build on nostalgia mess. Despite what the the PT did GL had a story for it. This one? Not so much

Normally nothing, but since it was part of Rey’s vision, there has to be a connection

Just like Rey had dreams of an island every night which of course, was Ach-To where Luke was hiding

It would make me so happy if JJ could revisit that whole vision and actually make it mean something like it should have.

:lol

There was so much in that vision that could add to the story. The Knights would definitely be cool.

Well in the TLJ Luke mentioned Ben taking a group of his finest students...so maybe...right :dunno

I just hope JJ redeems Luke’s character from a coward, hermit, murderer according to Ben Solo recall ( even though we know Ben struck first) to the Luke we know

It'll be very interesting to see if TROS delivers and/or wins any of you back.

I'm glad they didn't name it "The Rise Of Legendary Luke Skywalker"... we'd be discussing TROLLS.:lol

I saw TFA twice in the theater and felt it was a satisfactory start, until, like you, TLJ just took the wind out of my sails.

Now, I find TFA exceptionally boring for a Star Wars adventure... because there's so little adventure in it. Besides the Falcon chase, which is repetitive despite being shot with a modern style, and the very mediocre battle at Maz's Castle, there really isn't much action until the very end.
:goodpost:

This was pretty much 100% for me. I did find my peace with TLJ but it's all very much a crackling 3W bulb in terms of the energy in this trilogy.

I hope, if nothing else, they put back the adventure into this last Star Wars movie.

I'm surprised more people don't mention this - RO had that SW adventure feel to a decent degree, but there's little of either ST movies so far that felt like true adventures, encountering incredible new worlds or situations, like the OT so perfectly delivered.

Arrival on places like Hoth, Dagobah and Tatooine was sort unnerving, meeting Jabba or the ATAts for the first time - you don't know what's around the corner, yet you're with people who do derring-do so well. It's what made those movies so thrilling and engrossing.
