I dont really consider those stories cannon at all, I never did....

Apparently many feel the same. And they are no longer cannon.

And let be honest, something being called cannon is basically like products saying “New and Improved” .....its just a marketing gimmick to sell stories.

While I can enjoy the extra stories (Like the new Vader comics) its definitely not something I put in the timelines with the films.

Sent from the inside of a giant slug in outer space.....

I don't consider canon to be canon.:dunno

I just think it’s wild how SW went from the mind of a humble little modest nerd Lucas who’s father owned a freaking small stationary store to the next trilogy being written and possibly directed by a person who hails literally from the highest of the highest levels one can reach on Wall Street I mean not even reach Wall Street they ARE Wall Street we’re talking about head of Goldman Sachs Federal Reserve Chairman levels of the highest echelons!

And to those that complained that Disney was going too far liberal take comfort in knowing that this creator for the next trilogy hails from a conservative upbringing and legacy.

I speak of none other then the dude from GOT.

That’s a debate for another time lol

I never watched a single episode of GOT but I read that those 2 guys delivered 5 seasons of exceptional television, 2 seasons of good television and now a rushed conclusion.

A series is always doomed when a lot of people start fantasizing about their own stories and their own endings. Telling a good story is really hard to do. I know a lot of people think its easy, but a lot of people also think they're going to be millionaires.

Think of all the billions of people who have walked the earth... and how few stories there really are.

I haven't been doing that with GoT so that's probably why I've been less pissed off than everyone else. I haven't seen the final episode yet but I presume it's 'the worst ending ever to anything ever'.

Nah, IMO the actual ending wasn't all that bad. Most people ive seen seem to be ok with it. Its the rushed path they took to get there in the shortened final season.

It always is. :lol

I did have my own predictions, and the way I thought it would go. But I never got hung up on it and I actually hoped the writers would surprise me... which they did. Not always in a good way, but that's the nature of surprises I guess. For the most part, I'm happy with the way GoT ended. It wasn't the disaster that LOST or Alias was, or apparently Dexter and so many other series.

Anyway, Disney ruined Star Wars and the DCEU ruined Batman and Superman... Discuss.

I thought it was largely praised??!!

The BSG reboot started with *great* promise. I watched the whole series all the way through even as it became evident that they were making it all up as they went along -- ("They have a plan" -- ummm, no they don't), and the ending was .. all over the place. Like a bunch of high school kids on weed wrote it.

Yea, personally BSG always worked best for me when it was a survival story about the remnants of humanity trying to make it to a new planet. It also was a surprisingly accurate take on military life (I say that as someone that is active duty). Where it really lost me was when it increasingly started relying on religious prophesies, strange visions of opera houses, and past lives.

Yeah but billions of people has a lot of the same experiences everyday so there only needs to be a few stories told and not billions of them.
