I mean if they're CGing living Daisy Ridley (color correcting her Jakku outfit in the TFA Leia scenes they salvaged to match her new white duds) then how can they not tweak Fisher, lol.

Is that why Rey is wearing the same clothes? It makes sense but I initially thought that JJ lacked any imagination. Rey is practically dressed the same in each movie. Kind of like a Jedi but not really.

Yep her new outfit even has the same deal where the cloth hangs loose on the right side but is a fixed loop on the left side.

I guess when she was shopping for a new outfit she saw the bright white and said "ooh that's pretty, but does it have the loop? I need one with a loop, it's kind of my thing," lol.

The problem with your Rey rescue rewrite is that they made Leia a general, and generals don't go on covert rescue missions. That and it wouldn't be believable that she could physically handle such a mission. Let's face it, Carrie Fisher was not in the best shape when these movies were filmed. But otherwise that sounds better. They'd at least be together again when they planned the mission, and we wouldn't live in a world with Luke Drinking Blue Milk memes. :lol

Can't physically handle such a mission? *****, the girl can FLY!!! :rotfl

Yes, but only through space (as far as we know). No defying gravity was ever established! :lol Plus that was the next movie, not Force Awakens. Although that would have been an even bigger WTF moment than her going all Mary Poppins in TLJ. Even better if Luke saw her flying and muttered, "Damn, I can't do that. I should have finished my training instead of hiding out on a remote planet feeling sorry for myself". :rotfl

I guess her old staff was too ornate for her new Jedi sensibilities, so she replaced it with a plain old stick. Or maybe that's the one Luke had on the island? Maybe it called to her. :slap

It's such an odd choice of costume. It looks like a 70s Mediterranean holiday outfit a wealthy woman toasts the Greek Islands sunset wearing. It would definitely have been in the resort wear section of Saks.
