Just checked the Disney dictionary...Skype; a recent development where heroes do not have to leave the safety of their Island to save the day...for $40 a month you can touch and feel each other, fight with swords, feel depressed and eventually vanish ...the future has arrived where we can all achieve our goals...words like may will be used no more when entitled shall take its place...may the force...oh no no no...mm hmm that s**** is history...now all can enter Hogwarts...no child or animal left behind

You forgot the elephant in the room in your PT/ST/PTSD ruminations.
The PT may be... "not perfect"... but at least they didn't have major supporting roles with Luke, Han and Leia - as played by HF, CF and MH as "luck" would have it. The PT may have had moppet Vader, tween Greedo (my money was on Kitster "shooting" first) and Cadaver-3PO, but they didn't have the gall to serve as the last will and testament, funeral and epitaph for beloved OT icons played by the actors themselves.
That we had to sit through what they did to Luke in TLJ just isn't quite the same thing as some moppet named Ani who we're told grows up to be Darth Vader.
No, in TLJ we got to attend our hero's funeral and the eulogy started out with comments that we were like "hmm, did this person even know him?" and moved on to what seemed to be mocking sarcasm about what he did, and brought it home with what amounted to pissing on a freshly heaped grave and graffiting over the tombstone inscription.
THAT is what makes this "supposed" so-called backlash by a "small" group of so-called "fan" hater trolls different to anything dished out to the PT... a smirky undertaker by the name of Johnson.

I used to be like that too tho, when I was a mod on AvP forums.
But in my defence I was a teenager back then.
It was way worse. Star Wars, like it or not, is a crowd-pleasing ameba in comparison to classic literature that is The Hobbit / LOTR. Making those horrible "Da Hobbot" movies was a crime against cultural legacy.
Only the immature ones.
