Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

It’s so weird how trying to talk about a movie you like is considered a negative here while repeating declarations of majority opinion is somehow a virtue.

Too many people tied into their doll board street cred. :lol
Cause the people who disagreed and brought up the movies faults had to leave. Guess thats why they are mad. But some were weird like Spazz

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

What about Junkion, pixle and Xipo what are they chopped liver lol

And rushmore, and cerealkeller, etc., etc.

Every movie thread wishes they could be so lucky to have a "Khev, jye, and Junkion" talking about them. Let me peak into the thread about the worldwide phenomenon that is Black Panther. Wow, lot's of great discussion on Cannibal Campout and which Captain America movie is the best, lol.

Yeah TLJ made them not know how to follow the board's Code of Conduct.

no, no junki, whats bad is denying, ignoring or defending the big problems the movie has and praising every single thing about it.
it is not as bad here but star wars forums were disgusting to read in December. any little criticism would get you banned and trashed. they were like drones.
theres nothing noble about attacking, banning and trashing people for pointing out the flaws of the movie. in every movie conversation the fanboys always become the most abusive

this forum is pretty decent and most people were cordial in here except for a few,
but other sites were truly evil in their defending for the last jedi. even saying that luke shouldnt die was enough to give you an infraction
i even suspected that disney was posting in those places

Pretty much. Didn't make a big impact. Didn't really please fans except a few. But I do enjoy seeing people's different views but everybody who disagreed with the movie are gone. Lol O well. Now the venom thread is gonna be boring without Snikt and his crazy theories.

marvel is going to take the whole year.
as much as last jedi made it is not even trending on twitter or anything anymore. it is been forgotten about very quickly

It seems like it lol. TLJ pissed everyone off so much.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

the hobbit was hated just as much but only the Josh defended it to no end. Josh defended it so much he ended up arguing with his friends and deleting people from his friend list and everything. then the fight got so big he stoped being mod :dunno then quit the forum

why do fanboys always take it to the extremes?

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

the hobbit CGI somehow felt worse than the CGI in the LOTR movies in some parts. kind of amazing how ten years later and a lot of people were really mad about that.
then the higher resolution made some people sick, and some hate came from that. and the acting and structure felt worse than LOTR. and the story was not as good, and the characters not as memorable. and the last movie got A LOT of people mad. and people got annoyed at the female character.

yeah i would say those threads were just as poisonous as the Last Jedi thread. warnings and bans happened there too. it was kinda the same

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

TLJ really changed the Movie section's 'crowd' though. There was a definite group here. And it got split. Many people are not the same. This section definitely isn't the same place it was.

Likely that's a good thing to some.

That said, I guess after the Hobbit, the LOTR section became the empty wasteland that it is today. A few cling to Asmus.

The DC section is dying too because of WB in the same way. But there's just so many diehards in there it can never become a desert... just a wasteland.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

What happened to Star Wars? Well same thing that always happens tbh...

OT comes out, people love it. EU expands the movies for 15 year hiatus. PT comes out. OT purists starts. OT fans argue with PT/OT Fans.

ST is announced, OT Purists hope it captures the OT, PT/OT fans hope it captures Star Wars. ST splits the OT purists and PT/OT Fans. Now we have OT Purists like always... PT/OT fans only now, OT/ST fans and now PT/OT/ST fans... With each new "Trilogy" we are opening a Star Trek Pandora's box... AND that's why ST should have never seen the light of day...

Idm Disney filling the "gaps" since they f'n already wiped EU (which is my favorite...), but if you're going with something new we'll end up with in 30 years of over exposure of ST after ST a complete OT remake will occur. The actors who played the old characters now fresh with new actors and once they remade the OT, then they move forward with a different ST with actors not as old and don't have to time leap 30 years to accommodate the narrative as they did with Hamill, Ford and Fisher...

So in essence they might be trying to destroy star wars, so they can remake it :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

FOURTEEN deleted scenes? That's got to be an all-time record blow-out for material that never made it to the screen. I wonder how many million was sunk into those "Blu-Ray extras."

most of the haters are not even here either. the biggest haters got banned (surprise surprise) and guys like Jaws dont want to talk about this ad nauseum.
the thread was literally killed off and khev and jye are still going like the energizer rabbit lol :lol:lol
a lot of people just dont care and are excited for infinity war. the world moves on and most people just want to have a good time and forget about the last jedi regardless if they liked it or not

Judging by what I've seen in various sites and forums since December, I think the wider fan community in general (and this forum) - breaks down into approximately what Amazon's current reviews/ratings are for the TLJ Blu-Ray, which is pretty much the 50/50 split I mentioned earlier (though these are mostly centered on people purchasing, so would be somewhat skewed to positive):

So the extra 1% of the 1 star review is the moral proof TLJ sucks? :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

I remember Celtic got his freidns to raid the hobbit thread after that JOsh guy band him. They put up some weird pictures. With each new movie the regulars here die and so do the mods. The rage and anger is to much for them to handle. A franchise which they love being criticized or something they hate being popular. All that matters is.....who is next......

Looks around the room

It's indisputable proof that those same 200 intolerant neck-beards that are responsible for the entire alleged backlash are still very, VERY busy with their bots, their "the internet" and their weaponized RottenTomatoes.:lol

Me and Mark Hamill - we just can't figure out if we're haters or baiters, but we DO agree that ESB bitterly, irrevocably divided the fanbase (causing many give up SW).... just like every SW movie. All I can say is thank goodness Social Media wasn't around in 1980,; we'd all despise ESB today.:lecture

DC will never die. they'll always be fans. Batman has had bad movies before and came back with one of the greatest TWO superhero movies of all time. DC is to great to just die that's why epople are more disapointed then angry.

They need to gain back the trust of the people. People were hyped for BVS but after that the hype died.

Your post made me think of visiting the RT and metacritic scores for the first time in awhile

It seems it does match up with other user scores

RT has dropped further to 47%

MC to 4.5

With amazon leading in the negative by a bit it looks about the same.

(And I mean just look at this forum :lol)

That's a very accurate comment. Hopefully DC embraces their own wasteland and makes a Knightmare Batman film.

On TLJ: Those scores are bound to drop big time once the BD release shill budget runs dry. :lol
