Well, I just got back from my day trip to Charlotte for Heroes Con. Spent almost the whole day hanging with friends in Artists Alley. Lots of news.
Here's some cool "scoopage"...
Adam will indeed likely have the same print at CE. While I was at his table, Alison informed him that the deadline for the printer is 6/22 (six days from now). And since he hasn't had time to work on a new piece or CE that basically means he will use the same one (just with the CE logo, obviously). So there is hope for those who missed out on the C4 print.
However, here's the shoe dropping (and this affects ALL artwork at CE): LFL has informed the artist that they just change the prices of their C4 print charges from US dollars to UK pounds. Note that I said "change" and not "convert". This means that the AH! print at CE will likely be 75 pounds (which is basically $150 USD). I had this confirmed by Dave Dorman as well, who said his CE print will be 100 Pounds at LFL's request.
By the way, speaking of Dorman... I got a sneak-peek at his all-new print for CE and let me just say that it will likely be just as popular as his C4 print. Think C4 Plunkett (as in Troopers attacking the Sandcrawler) only with another unique twist that just rocks.
Also talked to the awesome Cat Staggs a bit (hi Cat!). Her CE print will also be a must-own and is indeed the perfect companion piece to her C4 print. I won't describe it, though, as she'll punch my face off. Also, she'll soon be working on a commission piece for me that will rock the world so I will respect her secrecy and let her unveil her latest masterpiece on her own terms.
Back to Adam... some of you may or may not know that he's illustrated the cover of the official Con book for SDCC this year and it's a STAR WARS 30th Anniversary theme. He has a print proof for view at his Heroes table and it's incredible. However, a slight snafu on the part of the folks at SDCC will prevent a couple of really cool "cameos" in his piece from making the final cut (more from Alison on that when she returns).
Adam also had an original Obi-Wan piece in the Heroes auction that was so jaw-droppingly amazing that I literally would not snap a photo of it because I know it would only make me cry later on after having lost out on it.
I let Alison, Adam and Cat know that they're of course all invited to the SS Freaks gatherings at both SDCC and Dragon*Con (which is now official per Dave, BTW... and I'll be organizing it. Stay tuned).
Of course, I spent some coin on artwork today, too... including some Captain America prints by Cat that will make the Marvel guys here wet themselves.
Too tired (and lazy) to snap and post pics tonight, though... but I'll get to them tomorrow. Just thought I'd share all of this news with you all.
