I read Dark Lord but I've forgotten most of the details, but that's a good point. I was thinking in terms of the explanation of why the Vader and Obi duel was so tame. Mostly I just don't care for the excessive Force abilities this apprentice has (except for them making the game so awesome). They just don't seem to fit in well with the rest of the universe.

I can agree with that. I mean, they created the game to make all the power ridicusously over-the-top and they seemed to have succeeded on that point. Granted, it doesn't really fit canonically with the rest of the universe, it's going to be pretty and awesome to play.

I think its possible that even the Canon ending could have the apprentice beating Vader in a duel or at least there being a stalemate, if it came down to that. As far as the apprentice beating Vader, he doesn't necessarily have to kill Vader, he could chop off his hand or something and injure him, but he could be injured pretty bad himself that he has to go into hiding anyway. More than likely though I think it'll be a stalemate where both the Apprentice and Vader both get pretty badly injured and have to retreat in order to recover. All I'm saying is with the Canon ending, I think its possible that the apprentice could still technically beat Vader, but we'll see. I'll probably read the Novel as well, and that will be the official ending anyway.

meh, what's cannon and what's not is mostly a personal thing regardless. "official cannon" is only official because It's TMRFE's on person list of Cannon.
Some of the EU stuff is better than the movies, some of it is worse. In the end, all that really matters is what you personally like and dislike.

The Soulcalibur purists are calling for Soulcalibur characters to be in the Force Unleashed...

As some kind of 'revenge' for Vader and Yoda...

Personally, I think they're overreacting, and I wouldn't mind if there were some characters in it from Soulcalibur, as I know it won't fit into canon, no matter how much they whine like Star Wars fans...
