The novelization of TFU is out and indeed it does have a major impact on established cannon. I haven't read it yet myself but I did look up some spoilers and I know alot of OT purists are gonna be pissed.

The only thing that p***es me off is that Blackman still has a job at Lucasarts...sorry i hate the guy for ruining what alot of fans had waited years for :p

As for TFU, i'm waiting to get the book (for some reason books are released "when they feel like it" in the UK, never to the actual release dates...lol), and the game when it arrives. I already KNOW the major "alterations" to what is considered cannon, they dont sit well...but meh, its Blackman, again nothing he does ever sits well with the "purists".

I think of Hayden Blackman in the same was as James Lucenio (an EU author), they have great ideas and great intentions...its just the execution of these intentions that suffers.

The demo was definately fun. My only problem is the targeting. I don't like how the game chooses what and what not to target. Too many time the targeting would choose the box behind me (and turn my character around) instead of simply choosing the box in front of me. Hopefully things like that will be fixed before release but I'm not counting on it.

So is this Lucas canon or is this EU canon? 'Cause if its EU canon and I don't like the canges I'll enjoy the game and act like Darth Vader dreamed it all. :lol

James Luceno is great. He and Drew Karpyshyn have written the best SW stuff since the days of the OT. They're both better than Lucas himself at this point.

Blackman is just a LucasArts video game guy. He's not even in the same league.

That's what I was referring to when I said it's the story that worries me the most.

The gameplay will be fun, at least.

I think it's probably Lucas and EU canon. TFU is after all the "next official chapter" in the Star Wars Saga.

From what I've read so far I think the story is cool and all and does have a few big twists but it just wasn't what I was expecting. I still say KOTOR 1 and 2 are the best EU out there. Heck I prefer them in terms of story over the PT anyday.

I kinda have a prob with the targeting as well. I can have person targeted, but when I go to hit the force button it sometimes quickly changes to the box the person is hiding behind. Other things are when running towards a shut door, I try to use the force push to open it, but it ends up targting something off to the side and I end up wasting some of the FP.

It's not THAT much of an impact...

It explains why the rebels use the symbol they do...that's about it...

There has hardly been any information on 19BBY to 0ABY...that's why the game is here...

And besides...it's super fun...

Ah well that is good to know. I was afraid it may have some impact on Vader's character or shed a new light on the actions he takes in the OT or something.

what it adds/changes in relation to vader is dealing with wookies.
Apperently, Why vader hates wookies has something to do with a comment made about his mother early in the game, instead of the fact thet they are covered in har, and due to his burms, Vader is now unable to grow the long flowing hair he was so famous for during ROTS. It's why he's stomping them in the first part of the game.

The more I play the demo, the more in love I am with this game. I was going to wait for a while before buying, but I'm not sure I can now.

My only complaint is that hacking somebody with a lightsaber makes them fall and disappear. I would much prefer limbs flying and the ability to make giant piles of bodies in order to reach high-altitude power ups. :monkey3

i`ve downloaded the demo and i think that the game is one of the best i`ve ever played on ps3 the game play reminds me a little bit from God of War which is great for me...now you may call me crazy but i hope for the next Star Wars P.F. Line SS will give us the ......Apprentice !!! :maul

Was a bit apprehensive about this game (didn't want the hype to suck me away), but the demo was definately fun, even if the graphics were a massive disappointed when compared to the screenshots we saw earlier. The psychics engine also felt really random and not all that complex, real shame right there. I hope the final game doesn't disappoint though, even if it has only been getting B's and some C's in early reviews, from what I heard at least.

There's also one major thing that I definately hope isn't true; that later in the game you'll encounter enemies with anti-Force shields. :banghead:

This game is one of the main catalysts behind wanting a PS3 instead of just a stand alone BluRay player. I have a feeling my life will somehow be less fun if I never play this game :lol
