Since they’ve skipped the Mirkwood bow and quiver and botched his council cloak, this isn’t even a complete FOTR Legolas.

His Helms deep armour is merely a pair of shoulder guards and a sword (that I don’t believe he ever uses… maybe during the final ride and die scene) but the added bulk and straps make him look totally different.
Just like how Aragorn simply removes the sister and cloak, adds a dash of chainmail and suddenly he looks completely different.
Brilliant costume work all round.
💯

I hope they rectify this mistake on not including the Mirkwood bow and quiver and optimize the Council cloak.

Personally, I don’t think they should include any other non-FOTR items, even if most would want that. For now, I’d hope they hold their end of their “promise” where they said they’d like to make their figures as “definitive as possible”. IMO, this should be it for a FOTR Legolas (ideally, if they optimize their blunders). If they go down the series some day, then yes, make the TT and ROTK versions, but for now, this is it.

FOTR is the right call if they can complete the Fellowship. I couldn't see myself investing that kind of money (or shelf space!) into it, but just imagine how choice they'd all look together.

If they're not gonna do Boromir, Merry, and Pippin (who feel the least likely) then I might've preferred TT... although I prefer the look of Gandalf the Grey personally, so I'm not upset either way.
I also agree FOTR was the right call. I find them to be their most definitive looks (also biased as it’s my overall favorite film in the franchise) despite understanding the entire series is iconic enough to warrant and deserve a figure representation at the INART level. LOTR is like Star Wars Original Saga in that sense to me.

They’ve expressed desire in completing the Fellowship so I definitely think they’re aiming to complete it, which should be their priority. And I personally don’t want to see them venture outside the Fellowship before doing so.

It’s funny because I won’t be going down this rabbit hole (have Gandalf the Grey and only plan to get Frodo and Sam), but I will live vicariously through y’all.

I'm skipping Legolas because I am happy enough with the Asmus one. However I hope they do Frodo and Gimli (because I think the Asmus Frodo looks bad and I missed out on Gimli). Passed that, I'd pick up the rest of the Fellowship if they did them, but it's not critical.

I own the Asmus Legolas. I like it.

But it looks pretty rough standing next to my InArt Gandalf and Aragorn.

Asmus doesn’t come close to INART 😆 the price difference is absolutely worth it, imo lol
I'll disagree - still feels like folks are glassy eyed over sculpts; and maybe some accessories; but ASMUS and other companies are equal or better in cloth quality and some finishing details.

Or; at least, what I really paid for was a sculpt I had to spend days on, some nice vambraces, and some nice accessories. He's fine but while I might order more InArt not enthused about it, since their customer service doesn't seem to be "premium" - or what I think of as premium either; and neither is their QC. Pretty sure fans pointed out the tunic length issue and that was ignored. Besides the HP peg issue. What is the good of a figure if you can't work with it, although so far Aragorn seems solid.

I don't feel the figure InArt produced is worth $550. I do feel the figure Asmus produced was worth $225. I think the likeness on the Helm's Deep version is one of their better efforts and pretty strong, I like that it comes with the armor and a bunch of arrows. I think the InArt version is missing some accessories it should have, and I worry about quality control issues that have been plaguing their releases so far.

It's great that you think it's worth it and I hope you enjoy yours, but I don't think it's a purchase I need to make, and it seems like there's been a number of people in that same boat.

Do you have the original or the Helm's Deep version?

While the Aragorn and Gandalf figures are clearly better all around, I really don't think my Helm's Deep Legolas (as well as Gandalf the White, Gimli, Theoden and Holm Bilbo) looks out of place next to them. Eomer and Elrond got pushed to the back of the shelf, sure, but there are a few Asmus figures that hold up nicely. I think that new Thranduil might be one that ends up looking like it belongs as well.

That’s OSK’s price. It’s $490 from INART. I’m not even getting Legolas.

👍🏼 we’ll see.

I expect INART rooted figures to be +/- $500 and don’t really have an issue with it. Great price-to-value for what they are, imo.

As I said above, I hope you enjoy yours. $500 is just where I'm drawing on the line on what I'm willing to pay for a really nice doll that goes in a glass case. Will I go over that amount by a few bucks, sure. Not $50. I just don't think it's worth it at that price and I'm more than happy with stick with my Asmus figure and put that $500 towards a weekend away somewhere.

As I mentioned before, I’m not even getting Legolas lol. Just saying in general.

The money that is being used for this hobby shouldn’t even be pulled from the same pool for vacations, imo.

These are rooted mass-produced products. The fact that they’re at/around $500 is great. Typically, it’d be more for a root job. On top of that, the higher quality and premium feel makes it. The realism, etc. My Hot Toys (even the best ones) just don’t compare and certainly not Asmus or Threezero, imo.
