August 15th is also when the new "Clone Wars" animated film is released theatrically. Indeed, if it comes out in August the game won't have as much direct attention from SW fans, because they'll be mostly focused on "Clone Wars" and all its products.

And the Indy game was indeed started before. It was announced in 2005 and there was game footage at E3 2006 when Force Unleashed had only concept art ready to show. Problem is, that's probably the only part of the Indy game they ever actually worked on.

At Celebration IV, they showed the physics actions of the game, much like the game footage we've seen from the Force Unleashed. It has indy throwing bad guys into walls, trash cans, off cars, into poles, etc. It was pretty good.

I know. But that's the same exact footage they showed a full year earlier at E3 2006.

Could be wrong, but Much like KOTOR, I really do not see this game having ANY multiplayer. Unless last minite they turn it into a FPS, and that, IMHO would be a terrible waste.

You can still have multiplayer and not have it be a FPS. Gears is third person and is crazy fun (most of the time).

I agree I don't want them to shoe-horn something in (just for the sake of it being there), but if they went into it from the start planning for MP, it could be amazing!

while gears Is not a TRaditional FPS, it still plays like one, only with an over the shoulder camera angle, as opposed to a first person camera. Fundmentaly, it's still a shooter, and shooters, Lend themsevles well to Multiplayer.
I just don;t see multiplayer working in a game like this. i could be wrong, but we will see won't we? :D

Jedi Academy had multiplayer. it was pretty cool, not bad at all. it's just tough to get lightsaber battles to feel right.

Again, at it's core jedi academy was built on the jedi oputcast engine, which was, yet again, a FPS at it's heart. And like i said, moving through a field as a cylinder, pointing lines at other cylinders( which, as far as the game engine is concerned, under all the prety graphics is what a FPS is . YAY Game design classes :D ) is better suited to multiplayer than adventure games :)

Not relly. An adventure game can be turned into a FPS online w/o a problem. You're controlling a character and running around maps just like in the game only you'rer going up against other people doing the same thing instead of bots. Third person view will work fine. I don't see how this game having online would be any sort of problem.

it all comes down to the complexity of the controll mechanic. FPS works for multiplayer as well as it does due to the simplicity of the interface. Considering how complecated the force powers look, i really just don't see it handling multiple people using those complex powers at the same time. that's alot of peocessing power.
Also, i would think that if the game had multiplayer, Lucasarts would be showcasing it by now.

I still say that since we haven't heard or seen anything about how the multiplayer is that most likely it isn't that great since that would be a big selling point. But I really hope that the combat turns out well, with Euphoria it should have really good lightsaber fights.

Sounds like it's been bumped to August now.

"This is a direct result of problems and delays during the development of The Force Unleashed caused by trying to port the 360 version to the PS3. The game is now, thankfully, on track, despite these delays."

Yeah, there is no firm date it appears. August does seem to be the month though and I say that because a couple of books I have coming (Novel and Art of) have been pushed back till August according to Amazon.
