Why is it always just some vaguely black girl with an afro?...at least give her some dreadlocks.
Just like the Rian Johnson trilogy that was guaranteed to be happening. Both Kennedy and Johnson said so!!! And now seems to be words that will never be spoken of again...
Wow. SMFH at this thread. This line takes the biscuit...
You're on a board where 50 year olds and teens with too much disposable income come to discuss 200 to 800 dollar figures and statues based on children's properties and classic Hollywood films. What complaints were you expecting to come across? A dissertation on the immigration crisis and its impact? There are forums for that. There are forums for everything. If this is what irks you then man, I wish I was you and only had this stuff to worry about.
Star Wars is a Space Opera. It's Space Fantasy and thus has the aesthetics of a quasi-Medieval Society transported into the future. The Prequels had a quasi-GrecoRoman look. The early Sith had an Egyptian/Sumerian/Mycanean look. Every Era has its own aesthetic variant but some things remain constant. There has to be an internal logic to it all. Having Qui-Gon running around with long hair, Anakin with an Undercut, Windu with a 70s Afro and Obi-Wan with a Perm would ruin the established rules. Braids and Buns are done and that's that. A beard doesn't grow a foot in a day. Braids last from a month to even two. Sidecuts and straightened hair need constant maintenance. Is THR going to be ****, most likely yes. Is that because not all the black characters have dreads? No. Nobody complained about Leia spending 4 hours braiding her hair in the middle of a Rebellion. "We've just rescused Han and we're on our way to blow up a shield generator, but hang on while I do 3 rows of braids before we leave." Or Ki-Adi Mundi or Obi-Wan. The guys have beards. Do they waste time trimming it so it looks just right all the time. Or Luke or Han. They must shave everyday before killing the next lot of Imperials.
Sidecuts, in this fashion, not to be confused with Undercuts, represent a very specific brand and type of character that just doesn't fit in an Era 200 years before the Prequels. Societies and Fashions may change, but we're talking about Warrior Monks here. Magical Warrior Monks who dedicate their lives to an Order and an Ideal. Priests look more or less the same as they looked a millenia ago. It's not a fashion statement, it's a way of life. It's a hair cut set 300 years before ANH. Does SW always have to look the same? Fashions change, societies change. This is what Disney went with. Don't like it? Fine. I'm not going to bother with it either, but this self entitled outrage because it doesn't match your vision is pathetic. Nobody is forcing you to buy into it. It's not like TLJ where they took a dump on well established characters.
And here it comes. "Company X can do whatever it wants, stop being entitled!" I'm voicing an opinion. My opinion. On a board about 300$ dollies. I know exactly how much it's worth and I don't lose any sleep over it. But I'll voice it. Because I want to. Because I've poured money and time into all these things, and nobody can come and say "lmao tone it down it doesn't matter just consume or don't haha". Because when the "audience" they're trying to chase didn't know who Iron Man was, I was hunting figures from overseas. But the current character has little in common with the one I got to know through the decades. So I'll voice my displeasure. Yes, on a board about cape**** with 40 members. I am entitled, very much so, to my opinion. Regardless of reception or impact.Stop acting like Disney owes you, move on and soak in the Star Wars that you do like instead. You'll be much happier.
Most of these complaints is just veiled racism and sexism ........
Search your feelings you know it tone true......

So, let me get this straight. I write some rather extensive posts, and present my arguments, as to why I don't like a single haircut appearing in a particular IP. And, a reminder here, we're not in the CyberPunk thread. I'm not seeing any set pics of Batman Beyond where Max has a sidecut and I'm venting. No, we're in a Star Wars thread. Anyhow. All the while I'm proclaiming my dismay of a certain kind of character. Something that, I should add, extends to all people; I don't like smarmy teens. Never have, never will. I didn't like them when I was a toddler, I didn't like them when I was a teen, I don't like them now. I hate the trope no matter where, or how, it manifests. Beyond that though. I go through all that trouble and your rebuttal is... "you're racist and sexist"... Brilliant. Just brilliant.
I know. It's still annoying when you go through all the trouble of explaining your position and get hit with "-isms". It's... boring. Unimaginative.Relax man....."ism"s and "ist"s is all they know. It's their programming. Arguing with them is a complete waste of time.
PS....if you don't LOVE Ramjoram and think xe's the greatest science-fiction fantasy character of all TIME then you're just a NAZI and you and your family and everything you've ever held dear needs to die in a fire. I am, after all, on the right side of history.
Ah, yes, the vague deflection. Classy...Let?s review my post.....did I mention your post at all?
Maybe you should think about that.......

It is also unclear if Geode identifies himself as metamorphic, magmatic, or sedimentary rock.
So is everybody excited for the new pilot rock?
Video taken down by the way
