Well, this looks like some Harry Potter garbage. But I also can't sit through these mewling infants bawling about "woke this" and "sjw that" either, so it's a wash at this point.

I fully expected the title HIGH REPUBLIC to get graffiti'd with "School" in-between.

A story told through coloring books and expensive comics.

And then there was this....

Star Wars Gremlins. :slap

It's like reverse Gremlins. Instead of furry Gizmo getting water poured on him and creating green gremlins we have green Grogu getting multiplied by furry versions of himself. I'm sure just like SWT thought he was having his genius "Filoni" moment the other day the LFL Story Group probably thought they had their genius "Baby Yoda" moment with those silly little new guys.

Now when this fails too let's see if Disney finally does the right thing and fires Kennedy. Probably not. Disney will probably use the successful stuff on their roster to subsidize garbage like this. Kinda like how college football pays for every other sport that nobody watches.

I guess the upside is, the more crap Disney spews out, the better the chance something will be good.

Out of the 12+ series and movies and things they have coming, I'm guessing 2 will be good. One good and the other not bad actually.

I would argue that success is directly dependent on Jon Favreau as an overseer. He seems to be the only person on the planet who has the know-how to do everything/navigate the business and also understands Star Wars and what it should look like.

There is also Rogue One. And Solo, sort of. So it is possible to make pretty good Star Wars without Favreau.

My days of lavishing trust on a single innovator are way over. I've been around too long to see them all fail. Favreau will too.

Yeah it's possible I guess. But RO's sparkling reputation is in large part based on that glorious hour long action sequence at the end. The rest is alright but also sorta meh. If K2SO wasn't around 2/3 of the movie would have been pretty dry. I'm not terribly excited for more adventures of Cassian.

Solo had some positives. And a couple really bad characters.

Agreed on Solo. But I really like Rogue One. Nothing near the same as the OT cast of do-gooders... and yes that final 40 minutes pretty much floats the entire film, but I've come to really enjoy a lot of the adventures and sights and sounds of the non-finale sections too. I wish Krennic was a better villain instead of just having a great outfit. But it has that Star Wars feel, same as Mando. It moves swiftly. And it has Tarkin and Vader again. And that Vader assault moment. It just gets down to, what's better?

Hmmm I felt Krennic was a really good character. That sharp yet kinda annoying agressive guy that's high ranking in the company yet still below the wrong guy who just steals his work and passes it off as his own. I bet there are a couple people like that at Apple who just hated Steve Jobs.

It is really odd what their "plan" was. They do take some elements of the "Legends" books and games, yet they end up doing a worse version of them. Why not just use the material that is laid out for you, and alter events as you go like Marvel does. Marvel actually uses their characters from the comics, they don't make a new ones based on old ones. Obviously the one time Marvel did that (Mandarin), it blew up in their face.

Only thing that seems remote for me to get is Thrawn. All the cool, badass Sith Lords they just pissed on and waste away with this kiddie garbage "Gettin High on Republic" crap.

Yeah, Disney has some odd Masters.

At least we haven't seen a musical "Star Wars Drag Race"... yet.

I know, but he's not a good villain for Star Wars. A real guy in a fantasy world just does work for me.

So basically yet another sassy, but like totes insecure because like, she's not sure she can measure up even though she's so strnk, teen girl with a sidecut as the MC. Because when I think of Star Wars, I think sidecuts... The setting is virtually the same but this time they ride on horses and are fighting space alien vikings... I don't know who's going to buy this. Every other book has some kids as the MCs. I'm sorry, but I don't think the TikTok generation is going to spend their time reading a 200-page genre book. Even less care about comics. This whole thing is just pandering, but pandering to whom? I remember when I was still using Tumblr, and every other tumblrwhale was whinning about wanting to read comics but not having money, so she was asking her followers to paypal/patreon her the money. But sure, go ahead, focus on that demographic Kathleen, you brilliant woman you...

I remember when they were first teasing this. If it had been about the Jedi Masters of the era, with the blondie as the MC, I could've maybe given it a shot. I've always hated teen characters. I never got the point. Why read about the inexperienced rookie with hormonal problems when I could be reading about the OP Master?

But as it stands, I'm not even wasting the 4 monthly bucks on this trashfire. And I'm certainly not wasting time reading a legit genre fiction book. So, good luck as this crashes and burns...
