I'm sure they are not completely impartial, but in the past I've found their reviews to be pretty reliable.

Mine finally turned up. I'm about a quarter of the way through The Phantom Menace and it looks and sounds incredible, and the movie's pretty damn good too. :)

bluray.com is pretty reliable...if it looks like crap then they will let you know. If the extras suck, they will let you know. They do a pretty good job.

Had the chance to watch part of RotJ thismorning at a friends place...

Now, i know its the one Lucas has diddled with the most, but the transfer is really quite amazing...they've gone in a repaired some of the rather poor VFX over-lay (thick black lines galore in the DVD release) and i actually like the tweak to the Ewoks eyes, brings them to life just a little bit more :)

Of course the less said about the awful addition near the end, the better...but other than that...actually does look quite good...

Downside is of course, areas they COULD HAVE..and frankly SHOULD HAVE looked at...the bad matte painting backgrounds during the sail barge sequence (namely the picking up of the droids) could have been altered with a new background...

The Rancor scene was, and still is to me, amazing :D

Also got to see the tweak to TPM...Digital Yoda is brilliant, just as emotive as the Empire and Jedi Puppet :)...and no where near as ugly as the Gremlin that crashed the set of TMP back in 1999 :p

Not to get off track again...just consider an intermission...but I found this on AICN interesting in regards to Spielberg and how he listens to fans and seems to respect the medium a whole lot more even using quotes like from this forum "robbing the people of their memories of the movie."

I like this one in particular:

"ET Blu-Ray: It’s coming. Spielberg said he wanted to poll the audience. He asked us if there was anybody in the crowd that would be disappointed if the 2002 Special Edition was not included on the Blu, if it was only the original 1982 version. He was greeted with a roaring “No!” from the crowd and said, “Well, that settles it then.” So, he strongly implied the ET Blu-Ray will be the original theatrical cut only and not even include the gun-less, _____ breath-less CGI’d ET version.

On the ET SE: Spielberg said he let the immense criticism from parent groups after the theatrical release of ET get to him, which is what prompted the guns being taken out and the removal of the _____-breath line. He admitted that was a mistake and that he realized after the fact that changing the movie was “robbing the people of their memories of the movie.” He had a very hard time with that and said he confirmed what he told me in our interview that you won’t see any more digital tinkering in future releases of his films."

Makes you wonder how many fights him and Lucas have gotten in over adding/changing things in the Indy films.

Just remember that the original plans for Toht in Raiders had him with a cybernetic arm. Maybe one day Lucas will go back and give it to him.

Very cool to see Speilberg get's it... not surprising as he is more than a one-trick pony.

I think Indy should escape all peril with a refrigerator... just got back and digitally add in a refrigerator to all of the scenes where there is trouble and they will finally be perfect :lecture

DONT! give Lucas any ideas.....next thing we know the Idol in Raiders will have a little fig leaf or something covering its shame....
