The Jedi "speed-running" was a very useful thing that somehow just got forgotten by most Jedi it seems.

I would aim to be the fastest Jedi in the galaxy. Jedi Speedwalker.
Simpsons did it...:wink1:

For those who skipped it, and need context that is LetoII(McAvoy) , Chalamet and Zenday's son changing into a worm, and talking to (Stilgar)Javier Bardem's character.
I can't begin to explain the cosmic prescience weirding spice-fueled speed-running, but there it is. :lol

So Mae is
a twin
which is on the poster which completely went under the radar simply because no one cares lol

Bad-Mae

Say that fast :horror
No idea, have barely followed this. As most of the interviews instead of focusing on story have seemed generic check the box (virtue signaling) abt their representation.
Yet if the story has the Jedi, for some reason responsible for separating a pair of twins, (choose to raise one under their purview, the other left to her own fate (maybe secretly raised by the Sith), it's actually could be a pretty interesting, and possibly tragic story.

I mean separated twins (or siblings) who re-discover each other (often one dark one light), is a done to death trope as old as dirt, in mythology, Norse (names?), Persian Ahura Mazda & Angra Mainyu, Castor & Pollux, Dumas' twin of Louis XIV in the Iron-Mask, Billy & Marry Batson, obviously in Dune Leto and Ghanima (wouldn't be SW if it wasn't taking from Dune :lol), Luke & Leia, I think He-Man & She-Ra, etc...of course Kane and Able, one supposedly steered towards "darkness", plays into the archetype fueled genre, and lends itself nicely to base SW world building.
If that's the story they can put a new spin on, and not the virtue-signaling, I'm more easily pulled in.:wink1:
Fights look decent from what we’ve seen so far. Not often you get to see Jedi rely on just themselves without a Lightsaber.

Two weeks until judgement day though.

We will see.
"why are the Jedi like this? When they are in power, why are they acting this way"
- Leslye Headland

The Acolyte said:
"the Jedi justify their galactic dominance....."
This still seems like some irreconcilable revisionist poodoo, just to tell their story.

Just cause you didn’t see it doesn’t mean they couldn’t do it. There weren’t many opportunities that I can think of in the movies for Jedi to have unarmed fights.

If they can sense a blaster bolt or a lightsaber then not too hard to believe that they can sense a punch or a kick so I think this is just a complaint for the sake of complaining here to be honest :lol.
You can believe that, although for me it's not a good signal that watching those scenes, the first thing that went through my mind was Jackie Chan movies.

Unlike, yah know, the thrill I felt about the Obi-Wan trailer (and I have the figure on order anyway. 😁 )

Also for me the trailer is tainted in it's very clear effort to excise most unfortunate viewings of anyone male and the wrong color, except for what looks like some soft angel kid getting zombified "Men? Men are weak. I was there, Gandalf. I was there when the strength of men failed; when I was commanded to shear my elven locks into a complex layer cut. I was there when the studio was overrun by the roving Twitter mob. When Lizzo came to rule and the mighty Obi-Wan Kenobi failed to walk around a fence post and ran away from his enemies."

Look, I'd be happy to be wrong. There's some nice visuals. (Not the ones where you need to squint). But if Disney already canned a second season, even the studio isn't impressed. At least they got through this footage without using the word "diversity". Guess they are pushing the action now. Pretty sure that first bar move is from the Mandalorian. :stake (And Carrie Anne Moss is a beautiful woman hope she doesn't get killed off. 😁 ). I have no idea what the showrunner loves about SW, what is in her head is probably terrifying. Also are there shops where you can get those hair styles, or what? Guess the High Republic has spas. :pfft:

The Bene Gesserit are in this?
No no, that would be derivative. These are, uh, the Benny Jesuits. They are, ah, a sith acolyte, uh, faction of, um, female priestesses with, uhhhh, powers. Yeah, they are like magical priestess women. Totally different and original. Plus they got their hair done so visually nothing like those Dune characters whoever they are.

Why is the Furiosa thread locked? It just came out and I'm sure people would like to talk about it.

Arrrghhg why can't The Acolyte be on Disney right NOW??? The wait is driving me MAD......I neeeeed it now!!! GIMME GIMME GIMME THAT ACOLYTE!!!

Have....have the mods not seen this thread?

Mods are on the job. But please use the Report function to send us a message when something is against the rules.

I've cleared out a lot of stuff.

If you're not interested in this show, just don't engage with the content, and don't mess it up for the folks who want to see it.

I have no reason to report anyone. I was just genuinely curious as to why the Furiosa thread was locked and when the explanation was that it was because of criticism I was confused as to why this thread had seemingly flown under the radar.

I'll keep my posts on topic going forward.

The Furiosa thread was locked because content was reported. Nothing in this thread had been reported up until recently.

It's pretty tough for the mods to check every thread, and a bit unrealistic. So in a sense, everything is under the radar. I visit the forum and check the threads that I'm interested in, I don't visit the forum to look for content to delete :)

So, Reports point the mods in the direction of content that needs review.

Shhhh.

As SH said we are dependent on reports. I'm here going through threads as are Pixletwin, SwedishHeat, and Yoda, but we cant catch everything. The guys do a great job, some of the best mods I've seen, but we would really appreciate reports. We don't share information on who reported or why. It is kept between us.
