No reason why the movie itself can't be good in the middle of all this exposure, over marketing and hype. All Star Wars since ANH in 1979 has been hyped, over exposed and over marketed. They are two separate things, the movie and the marketing, always have been with SW.

Well, yeah I still remember being a very young kid and cutting out the pictures of creatures from Jabba's throne room off of newspapers and cereal boxes.
It's no different now.


Edit: oh I get you, I saw it in 1979, it hit the states in 77, but not everywhere else, it played around the world for years. And I was a very small kid.
