The ESB and ROTJ lightsaber duels were both pretty good, but I have no interest in seeing another ANH-style lightsaber duel. I feel like, by and large, the lightsaber battles were one of the things the prequels actually did well (I'll grant you the lightsaber battle that ensued when the Jedi went to arrest Palpatine was bad, but I thought most of the other ones were well done). I don't blame them for the Vader/Obi-Wan fight in ANH being the way it was. Getting an aging Alec Guiness to try to put up any kind of credible duel would have been pretty much impossible, and back when it was filmed, using a stunt double wouldn't have looked very convincing. From a narrative point of view, it kind of works, because Obi-Wan really wasn't fighting Vader to beat him, as much as he was buying time for the others, but it really isn't much to watch. To me, it's one of the least exciting scenes of the whole movie.

For me, that scene was more about the dialog between them than the sabre duel itself.

I think that's true for the duels in all three of the movies. They all have something going on besides how fast they can swing a lightsaber. ESB and Jedi especially, where Vader is trying to tempt Luke to the dark side. A lot of psychology going on there.

Still, little on those nose initt

And the black, white and red isn't? In conjunction with "stormtroopers" and the officer's uniform? All in a Nuremberg style rally?

The "Empire" (and now First Order) has always been based on Nazis. And its always been a bit on the nose. Like Vader's helmet.

I have to say I like it... but it does tend to strangely glorify it all at the same time. *Uncomfortable moment*

Glorify!? They are the villains, you realize?

Yeah, it never occurred to me Phasma was female until they spelt it out. Unless she removes the mask it doesn't really matter either way (after all, a woman played Greedo).

This new "First Order" aren't real Nazis anymore. They accept women and non whites, unlike the original Empire.

Sheev would be disgusted.

I also find it weird that the girl Luke has that British accent. I thought that was reserved for the villains in this universe. She sounds weird.
