Didn't General Superfluous's droid guards have staffs that could deflect lightsabers in ROTS?

Not really, Grevious staff barely did anything to a saber attack, and besides this is a trooper not a special character, which is what I like

I remember those guards fighting Obi-Wan and Anakin and deflecting their lightsabers, even when their heads were chopped off. And that looks like a special trooper to me with the batons and riot shields and such.

Ok I'll give you that, but I never put a trooper and a guard in the same category. They just aren't.

I wonder if he is a special character with the shield because he looks the same as the FO, just with the shield and baton so it should be interesting :dunno

I saw the toy when I was at target the other day, at least I think it was it. Packed in with the rebel pilot dude.

Okay, I didn't mean to stir the pot with the whole accent issue. I'm sure overall Daisy was a good choice for Rey. She is cute.

This is just an introduction to her character SW faithful, she's not supposed to be womanly or regal yet. She's raw, like Anakin and Luke was at first, so she's supposed to be young, aggressive and childlike.

I'm sure by the third film she will be more mature with royalty in her personality and looks, but for now, I think the actress captures what they want Rey to be like in the beginning.

Now let's start focusing on what's appealing about this film

The innovation and creativity with scenes like this

Been waiting to see this in films for years

So this saber deflector is attached to him arm? I guess its more of a defensive weapon?

Screening to Disney was a Horrifying experience..

Epicstream

Doesn't surprise me at all, you're talking about a new SW direction after the PT experience left the audience on in impressions even though it was supposed to set before the OT.

The PT suffered with lousy dialogue, okay to mediocre acting abilities from the core cast and an overwhelming amount of overkill in SFX at times instead of a good script.

What did JJ expect that everyone wouldn't be skeptical viewing this new film :cuckoo:

It's SW

I think it's not an arm attachment, at least not what I saw in the preview, it's just a newly designed staff :dunno

Then again...I guess it doesn't matter afterall when I saw this :horror

You shouldn't be afraid to speak your mind Guyver, you weren't stirring the pot. It's a ****ing message board. :lol What are these guys going to do to you for such a minuscule comment, beat your head in? No.

Nobody did though? did they?
I know I simply disagreed about his English accent comment in regards to what has gone before. Star Wars has always been full of posh UK accents, both real and very fake.

:dunno

No, no one did. There is no conflict. I was just wondering why he felt like he was "stirring the pot" or whatever, just short of an apology. It's all cool. Different strokes and all that.

We shouldn't be afraid to speak our minds on here. I get this sense like we're all on edge about what other people think about our opinions. This thread, walking dead, Civil War, BvS etc. These are just movies and TV, as long as we're not taking personal shots at each other, who cares!

Damn, Ford looks like such an old man in that shot. He's got an old man walk...and not in a good way like Clint Eastwood, but more like I'm too old to be doing this... kind of way.

First thing I noticed as well.

Oh well, he is old so it's expected.

All things considering, that's his post on set injury and plane crash walk, not bad if you ask me.

:lol it's actually interesting that the guy playing Finn at least can fake an accent in the film, but Daisy doesn't. Maybe they asked her too, but she couldn't .

Speaking, I always thought it was weird Qui Gon had an accent when Liam can perfectly fake an American accent..think Darkman and Taken :dunno

I noticed too, but I actually thought it was a good thing--that it's acknowledging his old age instead of trying to hide it like they tried to do in KOTCS.
