"Canon" doesn't even matter with any of these franchises.

When I see Star Wars, I still have a hard time buying that Vader is Luke's dad, Leia is Luke's sister, and that Obi-Wan is blatantly lying to Luke's face, and that's just OT stuff. Best to look at each thing, be it movie, book or game, as one story at a time. That's how I enjoy it anyway. All these "Universes" whether it's Star Wars, Superheroes or Terminator and Alien are inconsistent junk.
:goodpost:

Pretty much.

Ok, time to tune out until the film hits next Wednesday. All the books and merch is starting to appear with all the script specifics.

I've never read or heard anyone say those books were canon except fans. I'd definitely be interested to see a quote from GL or Lucasfilm saying they were.

There were several levels of canon in the Expanded Universe. G-canon was the movies, T-canon was the TV shows, C-canon was newer published material, S-canon was older stuff, N-canon was non-canon. Anything on a higher level could override stuff below.

Now everything is on the same level, overseen by the Lucasfilm Story Group.

I wouldn't get too attached to this new continuity. I have a feeling that they're going to be rebooting it every several years now and none of it really matters in the end.

I can see the new canon sticking around for decades more, if not for good.

The new canon also has the benefit of knowing what happened in the prequels. The early EU was "flying blind" in that respect.

They missed a huge opportunity to have a Saber Staff. Why didn't they do that! :gah:

I want a 1/6th of her in that outfit as well. Looks a lot better

Because that'd look like Darth Maul's saber and OT fanatics could lose their ****.
Disney wouldn't allow such thing to appear in their "Greatest Hits" project.

Someone please explain that pic to me

She's got a lightsaber and costume is different.
I guess that's something no trailers or TV spots showed before.
Tho I remember something like that from leaked concept art.

I don't think it would be bad though. I think that would have been one of the most iconic moments in Star Wars. The staff she carries throughout the whole film. Gets to the fight at the end. Then the Saber blade comes out. Would have been a huge moment. I guess they have to ruin it though with the OT rehash of the same Lightsaber...

The trooper personally reminds me of a Power Ranger or Power Ranger villain or something. That looks like the same nature or park setting the Rangers would usually fight in too.

I must say, it will be nice to see some semi-urban warfare in Star Wars for a change. Though I also thought they coulda explored some different types of planets, e.g. a water world.
