Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

And actually Affleck's friendship with Kevin Smith would probably serve us well. It's my understanding that Smith shares the opinion of those of us who despise the SE's and the stupider elements of the PT.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Affleck has turned it around for himself hasn't he. Didn't seem so long ago where the popular thing to do was slag him off over a few film choices of his and the whole J-Lo thing.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I wouldn't let Kevin Smith anywhere near his own movies, let alone Star Wars.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Yeah, Affleck is already 100 times the filmmaker Kevin Smith ever was or ever will be.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

But I don't even want that fat, unfunny burnout near the set. :pfft:

:lol

Well then I'd redact that vote for Affleck if I were you. I don't want Damon anywhere near a SW film and after all of his crying about passing on Avatar I'm sure his buddy would give him a starring role.

Matt Damon passed on Avatar? That would have been a well of never ending residuals, didn't that movie make like 300 Trillion dollars:D

What's a lens flare? And why do people keep mentioning them in relation to JJ?

The internet made the whole lens flair joke old and tired literally less than 2 hours after the news hit yesterday.

BTW, is this teaser poster official?

I think its Darth Binks, the new villian for the sequels
:lol

Messa find your lack of respect . . . dwisturbeen.

I do not dig time travel, and it does not belong in Star Wars.

But you won't feel that way when Kyle Reese jumps out of the Delorean with Doc and Marty just in time to return the whales to Leia so Dr. Who can kill the Rainmaker . . . . :hi5:

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I agree, but I think Abrams is a huge EU fan. HUGE! And he loves that Solo/Leia daughter in the spandex tights and little cape.

IF this line is true, it just made my day. Requesting some sort of source?

BASED on the projected timeline, all they need from the EU, is the following

Han and Leia "retired" and off doing what they do. Which is generaly causing trouble
Luke Head of the new Jedi order
Jacen solo dead, Anakin solo dead ( han and LEia's sons)
Jaina Solo alive. Jedi. ( han and Leia's daughter) Amelia solo alive ( Jacen Solo's daughter, Lives with Han and LEia)
Chewie dead( before you cry fowl he died around 300 years old), Mara jade dead, Ben skywalker alive. ( Luke and Mara's son)

Reference the dead once.
Have that in there, and the REST of the eu can be ignored.
Because for those events to have happened, most of the EU must have happened. They don't need to go into detail about it.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I'm sure Abrams will respect the continuity of the EU as much as he worried about Trek timelines.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

How could anyone sift through all the garbage of either universe's EU's? So much of it is just designed for temporary entertainment and satiation of the fan base. And also to drive paper sales.

I like the idea of G-level cannon and all that.

The rest, although Lucasfilm approved, is essentially fan fiction.
