The first 3D movie I ever saw in the theater was a slasher movie too, Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare. So dumb to put the glasses on only at the end to watch those little snake things fly around in hell or whatever.
I'm just looking forward to enjoying the movie on my couch.
Hell yeah.
Apparently someone got a hold of next week's Best Buy ad which features a preorder for a Kylo Ren Steelbook edition:
I wonder if Disney is just keeping quiet to squeeze out another week of theater tickets before people decide to hold off and wait for the blu-ray.
I actually didn't think the 3D conversion for TFA was all that great.
The only shot where it had noticeable affect was the depth in the melted Vader mask.
2D for me. s Especially after seeing how amazing the 70mm IMAX was.

Me and jye are waiting for the Target exclusive with the Rathtar on the cover and isolated score audio track so we can just soak in the awesome music while staring at the iconic creature for hours on end.
Just as I suspected, this got harder, I'm guessing Target will have aRey Steelbook.
I've only seen it in fake IMAX 3D so far, and I loved when the Star Destroyer was sticking out of the screen, ahhhhhmazzzzing.
Well you sure aren't getting THAT at home.
I saw it in 3D liemax, 3D full IMAX (digitally projected on a 7 story screen,) and 2D 35mm. I definitely preferred the 3D. For the shots that were film in 35mm and then converted yeah the 3D was so so but there are a handful of sequences that were *so* spectacular in 3D (Falcon chase, Finalizer, Poe attacking the Oscillator, etc.) that there's no way I'm going to deny myself that option at home.
The 2D IMAX projected from 70mm film stock would have been nice but I thought driving three states to see it would have been excessive. But I certainly gave it more than a passing thought.
Not generally a fan of 3D conversions but I loved TFA 3D. It varied wildly depending on where I saw it. But it generally looked fantastic in places. That star destroyer shot was pretty amazing in the cinema. I also loved the CG flight/battle sequences and the depth in the Solo finale.
I saw TFA last night again (for the last time in the theater) making it 11 times. My girlfriend thinks I'm nuts but it's so nice to have a Star Wars movie that I cannot wait to see again. I cannot wait to now own this on bluray. I have been listening to the score a lot and really do wish they would release a deluxe version with all the music as it was cut for the film. I could not help but notice how much was excised from the film.
