My logic was that they are a C and a 3 smushed together, but that's stretching it.

I never bothered to look up why they were just shaped like 8s.

An example of the restraint shown by LFL marketing

You guys can insult anything about Star Wars but you don't ****ing say a thing about C-3POs. That was a great cereal when I was a kid and I still to this day remember what they tasted like.

You've crossed the line boys. You've crossed the line. :thwak

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

You act like Star Wars has been this untapped thing. Star Wars has been overmarketed for years. And has ****ty rides, ****ty toys, and ****ty products.

Disney isn't going to do much worse then Star Wars Angry Birds.

Ugh?

1) If you have been around long enough you should know that the world is already saturated with Star Wars.

2) Star Wars theme parks rides would be awesome. There has, in face, already been for decades. Bring more! BRING THEM!!!!

3) Do you feel Disney has saturated Marvel? I don't feel that way and all they are saying is that SW is going to follow a schedule similar to what they have done with Marvel.

More Star Wars is a good thing in the right hands. We'll see. :yess:

I meant movie saturation. Sometimes too much of a good thing is bad. 2 Star Wars movies every year might be a bit much. Hopefully I'm proved wrong...I just have a feeling that the prequels are going to look amazing compared to some of the stuff that might come out.

You are just a pessimist. Nothing wrong with that. :lol

new rumor..

https://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/notyetamovie/news/?a=73847

Nothing concrete, but an Aussie radio show host reckons she has it on "good authority" that the actor - who also appeared as Denethor in Return Of The King - will be playing the villain in the first of Disney's new Star Wars movies..
Mark "RorMachine" Cassidy - 2/6/2013

This is sketchy - basically just the word of one Radio show host - but we haven't had any casting rumors for Star Wars Episode VII yet so what the Hell! On morning radio (Fox FM) in Melbourne Australia, the hosts were discussing yesterday's confirmation of the standalone Star Wars movies when one of them (Jo) said she "has it on very good authority that Aussie actor John Noble will be appearing as the villain". The other host, Matt, queried this but she remained adamant, saying this was definitely for Episode VII and not for one of the standalone movies, before offering to make a friendly wager on the matter. Obviously we have no way of knowing if this is true, and our definition of "good authority" may differ quite a bit from Jo's here, but you never know. Noble did work on the J.J Abrams created tv show Fringe - but of course that could also just be where the (rather lazy) link was made for the rumor to spring from. If it did turn out to be true and he was to play the villain, how would it go down with you guys? Thanks to Natalia Romanov for the heads up.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Noble would make a fine "Palpatine" type character. I'm more interested in the new "Vader" character -- the main antagonist, the cool monster villain, the 'evil machine' that wants to control you.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

AICN is reporting a Han Solo origin standalone film is a front runner for development.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Warwick Davis must play R2 in the ST:lecture

I would prefer to see a guy who looks like that cast as the hero. Villain could be a fresh faced young guy. But they gots to sell toys!

Not sure I want to see a Han Solo origin story, though the $$$ potential has to be through the roof, so I can easily see that happening.
