For all of you who hate Rey how do you reconcile your love for superheroes? Batman can do way more than her and has a billion dollars and a butler from the get go. Rey lived alone and had to make her equipment out of stuff she found, not inherited.

Batman gets his *** kicked in all the movies, doesn't have any friends and can't hold a steady relationship. He broods and is overall a sad bro. Batman has had years of training and still ruins every one of his vehicles, especially Batwings. ****ing Rey knows how to pilot and repair the Falcon from the get go.

He ain't no Mary Sue. Apples and oranges.

Rey could probably be a better Batman than Batman.

Batman is the ultimate Mary Sue. He defeated Superman, held his own against Doomsday, has lots of (super) friends (plus Alfred). As far as romantic relationships Rey has none. She's assumedly a virgin, he definitely isn't. Rey ain't got nothin' on Bruce.

dude... you are comparing a middle age guy with millions in gadgets and time to prep.... his experience and training alone makes him way different than Rey.
he accomplishes his wins from experience, training, prep time OR money and gadgets.

Rey is technically just a scavenger that knows a little about technology from the junk she collects.

Lets put it this way. Imagine the very first time Batman puts on the suit in Batman begins (And imagine he was never trained by Ras at all) Imagine that Batman puts the suit first night on the job and takes down the joker and two face at the same time.... like on his very first week..... Lets say he has no gadgets while we are at it.

That's Rey... and Yes she has the Force. but so did Luke and he still had to train. and even with some training he got his butt kicked. Disney went WAY overboard with the whole "strong womyn" part of the movie.

Batman is a Gary Stu only in certain books, and that came with time and was a result of his popularity. Rey is just like the new Marvel Creations. She's great at everything (fighting, Force, flying ships, engineering), defeats the bad guy, the male lead falls for her and all the OT characters that we know and love for some reason are head over heels for her. Yeah, she is a Mary Sue, no matter how you cut it.

I was just thinking yesterday that given how pathetic the character of Padme ended up being maybe it's not so surprising that they may have ''overcorrected'' with Rey.

The thing is, everyone else is pathetic compared to Rey. She can fly, she can tinker, she can use the Force, and she's loved by everyone. Oh and, she has no flaws... like, at all. She's Mary Sue 101. Anakin was the "Chosen One", but his feats were damn weak. Dooku cut off his hand and Obi-Wan demolished him. His greatest feat was beheading a weakened Dooku and... killing kids, I guess? He was weak AF, especially when compared to Miss "here I am kicking the villain's *** with no training at all" Rey.

Been watching a lot of Lucas interviews lately. I'm curious what his treatments for 7,8 and 9 would have been like. It comes across as Disney saying 'we have your company and life's work now, **** you and your ideas, we'll just remake the OT and make billions.'

This time 2 years ago we had so many leaks at the looks of Kylo Rn, including the first look at Black Series figures. Surprised no one has leaked a look at Benicio or anyone else yet.

Now how Hollywood works, the focus needs to remain on RO, movie is only out 2 weeks.

When TFA was coming out there was no other SW movie in the theaters that needed attention, it was all about promoting TFA.

2017 is going to be such fun. Get those ******** Marvel and DC films out of the way, we have this to look forward to all year, and the more time passes, the more info is revealed. There really is nothing like a new Star Wars movie coming out.

I think Rey is a Kenobi, Snoke is either Plaegis or some surviving piece of Vader and Finn is force sensitive, but not a Jedi

I don't think we need spoiler tags, just our crazy opinions lol.

But ok:

Interesting about Kenobi but that would also mean he was talking to himself then when he said "Rey, these are your first steps" during her vision which makes it even more interesting lol.

But like superheroes she's likeable. She's lonely and abandoned and when she finally gets a father figure she has to suffer the heartbreak of watching him die a few hours later. In her first encounter with Kylo she is totally defeated, captured, then mocked. In the moment that she faces Kylo in the forest she's once again the only person in her universe. Han is dead, Chewie and Finn appeared to be gone as well.

Skill level and abilities are all relative to what the characters have to endure. She may be way more powerful than Han, Leia, let's even say Luke in his early years yet she suffered much more than any of those characters did in ROTJ. So being gifted doesn't harm a character as long as they face sufficient trials. That's how it works with superheroes and it worked with Rey.

Actually which is worse?

Luke's surrogate parents being burned alive or Rey being abandoned by her parents.

Speaking of Rey, someone had to be helping her behind the scenes for her to make it to her age.
