Batman can't Force or lightsaber!

Get outta here Khev. I see what you're trying to do. You're trying to distract me from comparing Finn to Jar Jar. It's not going to work friend.

Ha ha, so you concede, I'm out! :lol

You edited your posts didn't you, huh. You edited your post after I posted. You edited your post, huh, HUH?

Switched the samples. Great scene from a great movie. It's been far too long since I've revisited that one.

I feel like Carrie's absence from Episode IX is going to be distractingly obvious similar to Ledger with regard to TDKR. Thus this new trilogy may very well always feel incomplete. Just one more reason to treat these new films as fun EU joyrides while ROTJ rightfully ends the saga.

At least Ledger's Joker had a final scene which had his character going to prison and the next film takes place many years later, so his story had some closure and no reason to explain his absence in the last film.

Unless Leia dies in EP8, they'll be forced (;)) to CGI her or find some way to explain why she's not in the next film. We'll always know the real reason though.

I agree. As such, I think it would be less controversial to edit episode 8 so that she does't make it out alive. Expanding her performance in episode 8 with some cgi, body double scenes ala fast and the furious, would probably go down a lot better than creating a whole new cgi performance for episode 9.

Haha definitely. To be honest up until today I had only seen that version and didn't know it was the "alternate" ending.

Yeah, it doesn't really count the way "Bats beat" Vader since he didn't actually do it :lol

They could use the opening crawl to explain her death. Then the film opens with a small memorial a la Harvey Dent in TDKR or a character, maybe Luke referencing her passing.

Who knows what Leia's role was going to be in EP 8 and 9? I doubt she was going to play a large role, but at some point she was going to have a scene or scenes with Luke, either in this film or the next....maybe both.

Maybe Leia and Rey were going to have a mother and daughter relationship of some kind, from the look of how TFA ended.

she wrapped ep 8 so the only thing to worry about is if she will be needed for 9.

She was in TFA for about 5 minutes. If the success of VIII and IX rests on having to CGI Leia in there then the movies are facing a losing battle already. They killed Han off and we don't know how effective Luke will be in VIII. The story should be strong enough with the new characters to carry the new movies forward without having to rely on nostalgic elements.
