Didn't Anakin find C-3PO pretty much complete, circuit wise? I think it was only the plating and reprogramming that he did, so technically he didn't build him completely from scratch.

C3PO existed before Anakin, he was protocol droid, but Anakin collected the scrap parts and rebilled C-3PO. Protocol droids were normally designed for light duty in comfortable settings, so Skywalker modified C-3PO so he could withstand Tatooine's harsh environment. He also modified and improved his cybernetic hand years later, which was the only mechanical prosthesis that wasn't outdated like the suit he was given by the medical droids after he was almost killed by Obie Wan. Same technology that was used on Grievous.

I'm not sure that's as impressive as Rey being able to fix the Falcon, given Han and Chewie didn't know how to fix the issue, and they knew that ship better than anyone, with the exception of Lando...maybe. Being able to fly such a large ship the way she did, and beating the expert First Oder pilots that were flying smaller ships was probably more impressive than fixing the Falcon actually.

I wouldn't mind a new Vader film if they can find a way to make him a good protagonist given that he's a villain. Also, Hayden Christensen is the same age Vader would have been in his prime during the 20 years period between ROTS and ANH. They should give him a shot with a good script and a good director.

Oh yeah! I'm all in for a Vader spin off movie, set during the prime of his life. But I think your fingers may have started cramping up and you made a little typo when suggesting who should play the role. :)

I think Hayden Christensen, like Vader, never reached his full potential. They were both the chosen one, but unfortunately Vader's injuries and suit greatly diminished what he was capable of doing. The prequels are Hayden's injuries and Lucas is the suit. :lol To be honest, I haven't seen Hayden in any films recently, so I don't know if he's a terrible actor, but I think he's somewhat charismatic and with the exception of Darth Maul maybe, he looks cooler than any character in the prequels or the Disney SW films, imo. :)

TFA will be the weakest of the new SW films if they get better and better like RO and I'm sure Ep VIII will be. TFA played it safer and done for nostalgia to rope the fans back in reminding them the PT was a far away blemish on the franchise...

The risk is, Ep VIII has been described as very un-SW. So does it have to use all the familiar settings and hardware (like TFA & RO) to capture the original spirit?

And who is the main character? Who is the audience supposed to identify with? What would the plot even be?

Sounds more like watching a video game than a movie.

Its all about POV. Vader has his faults in killing Padme and not saving her. The movie could dwelve into that without Padme. Also, he wanted peace amongst the galaxy. Vader did not choose to blow up Alderaan; Tarkin did.

There's scum like Jabba and other gangs whom make the galaxy a bad place. Plus, the Emperor always seemed to challenge him. Vader wanted to kill him and have Luke at his side. Perhaps he could be on the run from other dark siders who want be the Emperor's right hand. Or the Emperor ordered them to see if he was worthy enough.

If HBO can make Dexter, a serial killer, sympathetic, good filmmakers can do the same.

I want a Vader movie where 75% of the time he's out of his costume.

Precisely. C-3PO was impressive, but not that much when you consider what Rey Sue did...

Been done already in the canon Vader book by Marvel. It was set right after the destruction of the first Death Star. A Darth Vader film would mostly need to be about him hunting down hiding Jedi, because that hasn't happened in the new canon yet. Or just make The Force Unleashed canon again by turning it into a flick.

Vader had his own comic series and needed a human foil (Dr Aphra) to bounce off.

Eh, I wouldn't say he needed her. In the old Dark Horse stuff he didn't have any major supporting characters. I mean, sure, she was a nice addition, alongside the torture droids, but a completely solo Vader flick could still work.

:clap:goodpost:

I don't agree that Lucas is a bad director, though.
I just think he likes things done in a certain cheesy way that isn't really acceptable nowadays.

Its always comforting to see how Hollywood uses these kids up and spits them out......Parents should keep their kids away from the film industry.

believe it or not, he's actually my good friends cousin. he has an autographed headshot that says "the force is with you, Jesse." :lol

stupid but awesome.

He actually looks more intimidating as Vader than Hayden Christensen and Sebastian Shaw. Too bad Lloyd is a manlet.
