I like that scene, hahaha
What don't you like about it?

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

On the film special features, they break that whole Ewan & Dex hug sequence right down in terms of the effects used.

It was a massive undertaking to get them to cuddle on screen. :lol

Yeah Dex didn't fancy hugging someone with ginger hair.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Never thought the majority of the CGI in the prequels looked bad. It wasn't anything special, but it wasn't bad. There was just way too much of it.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

agree... was not sooo bad.. but just way to much... unfortunately..

I hope (but I am sure) we won't get so much in the new movies...

So the way he looked you didn't like, it's all good. lol, each their own my friend. Thats scene just cracks me up with his how he acts and talks plus knowing about the dart is cool as no one else knows. Even a Jedi Master like Obiiiiii Waaaan as he would say.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

The way he looked, the way the diner looked, ever line uttered in the script, the fact that it exists, and the fact that the movie exist all bother me.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I found the whole "1950's American Diner" motif to be REALLY off putting. This was the first major indication for me that George Lucas had definitely lost touch with what made Star Wars STAR WARS. EVerything up to that point, for me, was just a minor nitpick.

Exactly! :lecture

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Again the prequels were not made to please everyone...They were put on screen by Lucas just to show his vision...He could have easily just made 3 novels too and had someone else make the films(which might have been a better Idea)...I for one was just happy to see beloved characters up on the big screen again and to finally know how what became what and who became who...could the films have been better...hey sure lots better...I just wont bash Lucas for his last hurrah(or one of em anyway)...He did give us the Star Wars franchise and now passed the torch to someone else who is good to continue on...and that's a good thing I guess...glad JJ is doing it too

:lol Wow, you feel pretty strongly about that. I feel ya there are a few things in the movie that bother me too :1-1:
Still I like more than I dislike with the PT and I know I am in the minority.

Minority here in this forum...I bet 99% of those 15 and under who saw them loved it...I was just happy to see his vision come before he died

PT was a disaster through and through - CGI lovefests. All watchable- had sherds of good stuff and ideas here and there, just never developed to the point of being OT worthy.
Lack of decent story and acting cloaked by visuals and more visuals.

I think the pressure must be unbelievable now on JJ and Disney for Ep VII.

I dont think so...as long as money is spent and JJ is doing it it will kick ***...but some smucks on this forum or critics will bash it no matter what...either way it will earn a billion dollars plus with eyes closed...Disney will make a billion on each of these they make...pressure for this picture is on the writing right now...JJ behind the helm presents no worries at least for me...the 2 Star Trek films for ex

We were dumb kids. We didn't know how bad the PT was. Until the realization crept in. But I always knew AOTC sucked.

I won't call any child dumb in regards to entertainment. Many just how do I make it simple just " I guess they just love the Star Wars universe no matter what" just like I do. Of course some of it is better and some of it not better but nonetheless still loved no matter what just because it is Star Wars end of story. Making a Billion bucks plus just proves that damn be the critics and forums, etc
