Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread
Ok maybe they should get George Lucas to direct it then..?

Holy crap, good riddance.
Earlier today, Badass Digest reported that "J.J. Abrams is on the verge of dropping out of" his directing role on Star Wars Episode VII. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you feel about Abrams), this rumor is false. We reached out to Lucasfilm for comment, and a company spokesman provided the following statement:
"There is no truth to the rumor. JJ is having a great time working on the script and is looking forward to going into production next year."
For those of you keeping score at home, that's roughly the seven-billionth Episode VII-related rumor to be debunked.
When I read all the rumor-flying about the possibility of JJ leaving SW, my first thought was....so, K. Kennedy finally saw STID huh?
It would really be okay if JJ moved on....really.
"There is no truth to the rumor. JJ is having a great time working on the script and is looking forward to going into production next year."
They read what they wanted to read . He never outright said JJ was leaving, he said he has been hearing rumors about it due to JJ's conflict with the location and schedule. Sites took it away stating that he said JJ is dropping out.LOL....Oh boy. No one read Devin's article...did they. What idiots.
JJ isn't going anywhere. Thankfully. If he walks, then **** this movie.
He's perfectly fine. Star Trek is the best Star Wars movie since Empire. The hate for Abrams is insane. His only problem, is he keeps working with ****ty writers. Himself sort of included. Super 8 is two really good movies that shouldn't have mixed together.
But whatever. Star Trek is great. Star Trek 2 is OK. But saved ONLY and I mean ONLY by Abrams direction. The writing was awful. But Abrams knows how to make a scene move. He can make an action scene exciting and interesting. But the writers he works with cannot write for ****.
Michael Arnet can. You give someone who can write, and someone who can direct, you put them together and you have gold.
The only other person who could make a Star Wars film is Brad Bird. But he's busy. So. Abrams all the way.
