Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Sith can't return as force ghosts, right?

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Food for thought

Making of ESB book. Page 24 on the developemnt of the Emperor - quote:
'In the end the Emperor does exactly what Ben did; he can also transform himself. As Ben becomes the personification of the good side of the force, the Emperor is the bad'.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Food for thought:

We'll always have the OT. Who cares what crazy crap Disney does from here on out. Bring Palpatine back. Call Episode VII "Attack of the Midichlorians." Go nuts. I am so *over* caring about what should and shouldn't be done in future SW installments or what would be badass vs. sacrilegious. :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

They can do whatever they want. As long as no one in the new films sits on a ****ing couch.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

i think if the franchise is going to stay relevant and entertaining, it has to draw on what we already love and explore it deeper. by now, it is obvious what everyone is hoping for and what nobody wants...

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I'd be ok with Ian McDiarmid returning in the form of a hologram recorded from the past, a clone, but most obvious but desirable is as a Force ghost. I'd also be ok if he didn't return though. Indifferent. It's better than shoehorning Vader in.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Earlier post is right.

If the new ones are good - bonus. If they're not, we have the OT - bugger the rest. :huh :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

All these need is a lot more Jar Jar....

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Yep. And R2 couldn't fly around with rockets anymore. C-3PO couldn't hold onto the edges of pointless CG floating droid thingies with just his fingertips anymore.....

I'm sorry Oscorp but you can't use that book as a reference as Khev doesn't recognise it. Only books written before 1995 count!

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I think people are getting confused, i don't think it was specified whether McDiarmid would be portraying Palpatine or a clone of Palpatine. May be he'll portray an entirely new character who just happens to have a passing resemblance to Palpatine as he vaguely looked 50 years before?

:lol

Palpatine as a force ghost allows the story to progress... Palpatine as a clone only sets it back.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Hey that's not fair.

That's like saying all Yoda could do when he was old was hit droids with his cane and cook a mean stew. Oh wait...
