Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I would definately approve of Obi-Wan returning for Ep VII, in moderation, just as Obi-Wan was in moderation for Ep V and VI.

There is a delicate balance to a cameo. It needs to be longer than a minute otherwise its totally lame, but it needs to be short enough to remain a cameo and not steal from the whole plot.

I would love an Obi-Wan film that either occurs after Ep III or is part of a Clone Wars story, but I think Mace and the other less beloved Jedi would be better for a side film.

Want that 7 Jedi film.

Spot on

These characters need to be in the sequels, but as you said in limited cameos to tie it altogether. If not it could turn into some crappy sci fi movie like the prequels that were only saved by characters previously created.

With technology today, just use Alec Guiness for the scenes.

They have enough of his image and voice to create new footage of him.

Or am I possessed by Satan for even saying such a thing. :lol

sounds good to me.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

As it stands now, I just make believe that the clone wars from the PT were not the real clone wars that were mentioned in the OT. :lol

Yyyyup. Most of ideas stem from Zahn's trilogy, but before even reading that, I imagined clones to be bad. And I imagined far less Jedi in a variety of outfits with a variety of lightsaber colors.

I don't want to see a PT Obi-Wan running around in this. Why can't Obi-Wan, and Yoda for that matter, be one with the Force and out of the narrative? Luke is a Master now and should fill the role of mentor to the new protagonist. His role should be limited to that of a supporting character. Stop shoehorning people into this movie! Especially when I thought they'd not acknowledge the PT and just make a sequel to the OT.

I like the Ouji Board analogy for Palpatine. It seems very natural to me. Much like on Dagobah when Yoda talks about the Darkside being strong in that cave. The Sith may have been destroyed, but the Darkside is still around waiting for someone to stumble upon it and embrace it. That whole balance to the Force thing was a dumb thread that prevents any continuation of Light vs Dark after RotJ.

E.W. back as Obi-wan is cool; I was kinda hoping they were gonna consider him, cause he was the one guy that was actually trying in those frakking prequels

Who would be the magnificent 7 in a 7 Jedi film?

1] Obi-Wan
2] Mace
3] Ki-Adi
4] Kit Fisto
5] Barriss
6] Shaak Ti
7] new original character

5000 posts! When is this movie coming out? Wait! What's this movie called? No, wait! Who's going to be in this movie?

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

The PT'S destroyed any of my expectations of a new Star Wars movie. These sequels now have to surpass my expectations just to be okay. Jar Jar most likey will be the main character, yousa say peoples gona dieeeee
sent from my R2 unit

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

It all depends on which JJ Abrams shows up to direct. If it's JJ from Super 8 we might get a decent film. If it's JJ from Into Darkness then Disney just wasted $4.25B.
