Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Why are there no recent interviews with Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher?

What projects do they have out? Ford might not be as big as he was in the '80s and '90s, but he actually appears in movies fairly regularly. Same cant be said for either Hamill or Fisher since their breakout roles in Star Wars. These snippets are likely a part of larger interviews about his upcoming projects. I'd expect to see Mark and Carrie on things like this after they're confirmed to be returning and closer to the movie's release.

There have been written interviews with Hamill. He seems excited and hesitant to be returning to this. He, Kathleen Kennedy, and JJ Abrams have all more or less said they're not going to repeat the mistakes of the prequels. Hopefully it's not all talk!

At least Hamills kept his lightsaber skills up to date.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Word is that E7 is raising the white flag for a summer (cough May cough) 2015 opening and going to be pushed up to a mid December 2015.

Summer 2015 too crowded.

Avengers 2
Batman vs Superman
Terminator 5
Independence Day 2
Pirates 5
Avatar 2
Jurassic Park 4

if this is true then E7 will be going up against Bond 24, Antman and Charlie Brown.

Tis a pity as an obsessive Terminator fan that I can have next to no confidence in the fifth film. It'll be better than Pirates 5 and Jurassic Park 4 maybe.

Prowse disses the PT. :lol

Darth Vader Wants Star Wars Episode VII Role
David Prowse discusses his dislike for prequels and interest in sequel.

With nothing concrete to report on the forthcoming Star Wars Episode VII beyond John Williams scoring the film, we’ve had to make do with numerous actors stating they either want to be in the movie, or wouldn’t touch it with a lightsaber.

And this past weekend a Star Wars legend came out very much in the former camp. David Prowse, who played Darth Vader in the original trilogy, said that in spite of the unfortunate fate that befalls his character, he’d like to return.

“Unfortunately Darth Vader was killed off” he told the Hull Daily Mail. “Bit it would be nice to come back and do another character, because no one’s ever seen my face. I was never unmasked.”

However, when asked about the Star Wars prequels, Prowse was very critical… “I didn’t like Star Wars I, II and III” he explained. “I think the common opinion now is they were really bad movies. There’s no comparison with the original movies. They had a much more believable story.”

So do you agree with Prowse? And would you like to see the man himself in the forthcoming sequel? Let us know in the comments below...

Sounds cool with me.
I didn't think he was still alive.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Apparently George Lucas and David Prowse don't get along. At all. Weird. That probably explains why he didn't wear the suit in RotS or get any unmasked cameos like so many other cast members did. Probably doesn't help he's so open about his disdain for the PT.

David Prowse, an intelligent man not afraid of a fat flanneled man-child. :lecture

Nice to see someone has the ***** to say it.

Prowse blabbed crucial ESB spoiler info back in the day, regarding Vader & Luke's relationship.

You expect them to be bosom buddies or something? :lol

I'm too young to have knowledge of that. I heard Prowse spoke the line "Obi-Wan killed your father" during the shoot and James Earl Jones redubbed it "I am your father." It was a surprise to nearly everyone when it was released with the real line. How did Prowse leak the big reveal ahead of time? Or did he do it immediately after for press for the film?

I believe Prowse leaked the "Obi-Wan killed your father" line which pissed George off on principle. It was an incorrect spoiler obviously but it showed him Prowse's integrity.

Prowse got wind of 'I am your Father' from Mark Hamill and then leaked that......only no one believed it because it sounded so improbable at the time.
