Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Cuuuuuuuz it's a rumor.. . and not a very likely one at that.

Doesn't mean its not true!!!

Still the could CGI them to look like Disney/Abrams wants, not like the budget won't allow it???

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Nothing is going to change Carrie Fisher's chain smoking voice. She sounds like Patty and Selma.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

2015 release date huh? It's almost 2014 and nothing has been done yet. no script. Nothing. They are going to rush this faster than a made-for-TV movie.

Im sure there is more done then we know.. London is also ready for early January ... Im confident in what they doing..

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

You know what would make me feel better about this? The Millennium Falcon. I want to see them build full size exteriors and interiors for the Falcon this time. Actually build stuff. No glass matte paintings or digital cheats. Leak a few set photos for us to drool over and show the fans this isn't going to be another green screen crapfest.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Nothing wrong with digital extensions, but yeah, that would be really exciting. I think they did indeed said they are doing lots more practical this time around. And they're shooting on film, so you know they're serious.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I am happy to hear they are going to 35mm. I don't think the digital cams they shot AOTC and ROTS have held up over time.

Most under-discussed item is the removal of Rick McCallum. He shares blame for much of what has been wrong with Star Wars since ROTJ. Kathleen Kennedy is not the "yes man" type like McCallum.

McCallum: "Jar Jar... He's great. He has a lot of charm. Fans will love him!"

Kennedy: "JJ, that looks like the same monster you used in Cloverfield and Star Trek. How about a monster that doesn't have a p-ssy on it's face?""

yes cant agree more, the OT looked real and still holds up today.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

He wouldn't fit in Episode VII, but it would be awesome to see an Old Repubic movie with this guy cast as Darth Malgus:

He's already done the costume and makeup departments jobs for them.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Wow!!! :horror

I'm not into the EU stuff much really, but that video just shows how talented some folks out there really are.

The Malgus make up / gear holds up better than anything from the PT - literally amazing work!

Absolutely incredible, isn't it? The suit was done by a guy on the RPF and he has a detailed account of the build from start to finish. When I saw that video I nearly **** myself. :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I almost.. wanna buy that SSC 1/6 Malgus figure now, seeing that great work. :lol

I just bought the 1/4 PF last week and it's supposed to be here Thursday so I'm beyond excited. It has all the light up features and the 1/6 doesn't....plus it's over 22" tall on the base. It's one of the best PFs Sideshow has done yet IMHO.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

it looks like they will be doing models like the OT, a cgi Millennium falcon would be just terrible. i Would hate to see bad cgi creatures and scenes like some of the stuff in the PT.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I just hope JJ isn't planning to do a Superman Returns on this film and do too much of a homage to the first film- so it follows it too closely in look and story arcs......
