Today I saw an old Mon Mothma figure, and it made me think how cool it would be to see Caroline Blakiston return as the leader of the Rebel Alliance. Blakiston is still living and continues to work as an actress. Though, I imagine Luke will have taken over her role as the leader for the upcoming films. In the EU, she continued as Chief of State for many years before dying peacefully in her sleep.

I could moreso see that aspect going like the EU with Leia, not Luke, leading the New Republic. Luke sticking with jedi business.

Luke and Leia will be active Jedi in the first film, why would they go to as much trouble training Mark and Carrie if otherwise?

The rumour was the opening scenes would be set at 10-15 years after RotJ and Mark and Carrie would be CGI'd to look younger. So why couldn't they just CGI them the whole film?
