Haha, nice edit. I second this.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

:lol Mark Hamill/Luke Skywalker is important... he's the only Jedi left, we don't know what Leia did with her life but she is a Skywalker with force ability's as well.

Solo is just a wise *** pilot... he's awesome but he's not necessary for the future. *shrugs* if he doesn't want back they can just say he crashed into an asteroid. :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Not really. The story and execution were just not timeless in the PT as they were in the OT. IMHO...

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Also, I don't see how the original actors could have been in the prequels anyways considering it took place before many of their characters existed

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

We had Chewbacca and the droids. Not that they are big name actors, but still.

I don't really see how it's different. Like the prequels, we'd still be getting characters related to those in the OT, but in a period after instead of before. So arguing that they weren't "timeless" could easily apply to the NT as well.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Story and execution were my issues. They didn't resonate with me and therefore I personally find the PT to be a far inferior shadow of the OT, regardless of who is playing particular characters. That was my response to you saying I should be a HUGE fan of the PT...

Although Hayden's acting was atrocious. :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

The only thing I'm concerned about regarding the original actors returning is that if the movie is bad than it really will piss on my perception of the OT in a way that the prequels never could. I actually enjoyed the prequels on a certain level because I could completely disconnect them from the classics. Not so easy here, once you see old coke nose Princess Leia it may be hard to unsee her.

The alleged "working titles" just leaked do suggest coolness though, not the titles themselves (which are lame) but what they suggest if real.

REVENGE OF THE SITH or whatever....sigh

I hope they are false. By the way I hate "A New Hope" as the revisionist title of STAR WARS....

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Harrison Ford and Benedict Cumberbatch are both on Graham Norton right now. When asked about Star Wars, both were very mumbly and deflected the questions. Awesome that they'll probably be facing off in 2 years.

I know some don't want Cumberbatch cause they think hes the "new thing of the moment" but I think he'd be great. I could see him being a relative of Solo's.

Funny clip at any rate, it was hilarious seeing him follow Harrison's form. :lol

This isn't what everybody's basing the "Ford's holding out" deal on, is it? That sounded like more of a smartass remark (which he's notorious for) than anything serious. :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I don't have a problem with older characters returning. It's how they're used... I don't want to see Han and Leia acting like Indy and Marion did in KOTCS and a bunch of stupid "in-jokes". :monkey4 I want them to be true to their characters in the OT.
