Not to be rude, but I agree. Lerath's report comes from people who are BSing.

FACT: This movie is based on a story outline by George Lucas. Period.

It isn't Arndt's story. It isn't Abrams story. Never was.

I hope E7 is a combination of Day of the Dead, Avengers, The Godfather, The Good the Bad and the Ugly, Road Warrior and The Howling.

Arndt REFUSED to adhere to the flow of existing story that is the EU.
Appearetly Abrams plans to pay triute to it, accept that ALL of it happened, and just keep moving the story forward.
Arndt Wanted to Make Chewie Mute, unless he was able to get into The Rebellion Pilot's academy, But As Chewie is dead, he was told no. this evolved into a MASSIVE argument, which led to Abrams cutting his the Jr miss universe pagent subplot ( similar to the podrace subplot in EP1) from the second Act of the film entirely due to spite. This pushed Arndt over the edge, and he has since quit the project.

IT is. I've seen the animatics. The just cut various parts of those films together, and are superimposing Hammil, Fisher, and Ford's faces on every one's faces.

As well as Prowse's Butt for some reason. I THINK those wrinkly buns are intended to be the Emperor, or something. I've got no sound at work, so It's hard to tell.

Yeah but this is what I meant earlier. EU is only 'canon' until George decides to blatantly contradict it, which he probably will. So none of it is really canon.

Goerge Wrote it a while ago. so it's in the past, hence, Use Past tense.

Fixed your post for you. Don't know why, It drive me batty.

But Yes, you're quite correct. I'm NOt expcting, NOR even hoping the EU will come through intact, or even Only partly destroyed. I'm FULLY EXPECTING Retcons, and so on.

I'm wondering to WHAT degree we will see changes.

No way to know yet, and I'm more excited to see which way they go, than anything else at this point.

No. It's just lame. Star Wars is cool because it focused' on the characters, and the adventure, not the Oggi' Baugna planet filled with Ud'dueht' Rayrytat Googly eyes. They threw in world building stuff, for sure...but they left that crappy nerdy alien crap out of it for the most part.

The Prequels started throwing this nonsense into the movie, and made it more nerdy and lame then it ever was. I don't like Star Trek for that reason. I don't care about the planet's atmospheric density. I just want a fun space adventure. Personal preference. And it was sad to see Star Wars head down a really crappy road.

Some of the EU is really not good but some of it is pretty good. Funny enough the PT EU I think is some of the best.
